If I had to describe college in three words, it would definitely be these,
Boring. Overwhelming. And ridiculous.

From the shit ton amount of work they give you, to essays and exams.. it's overall such bullshit. Yes, it teaches you something and "gets you ready for the real world." But god. It's a fucking pain in the ass.

"Go to college and get a education." they said, "it'll be fun!" they said.

If i had a dollar for every time a professor has popped a random test, exam, or homework at me, id be a fucking millionaire. Maybe even a billionaire.

"Fuck."

My arms seem to give way as I let them sway back to my sides effortlessly. As my eyes gaze upwards to a tall black girl, i hear my name get called.

"Cadence? Earth to Cadence.." She calls out, waving a hand in front of my face to get my attention. My eyes went blurry for a moment before refocusing and landing on her own, my pupils still seeming to dilate.

"What?" I answered unfazed, the woman scoffing and holding in a small laugh as i studied her face, her hand freezing in front of my face, though i could still see her through the slits of her fingers and the tilt of my head.

"What did you say 'fuck' for?" She inquired, laughing a little bit at the start of her sentence as she took her hand away from my face.

"I don't have a class with you or Carly."
"What?! Seriously?!"

I face planted myself and slowly pulled it down my face, somehow coming out flawless even though I had makeup on.

"Im serious." i admitted, "This fucking sucks."

"Class will be so boring without you! You have to switch classes!" The woman exclaims, her words flowing out of her mouth.

Little background information: Ive switched classes 4 times this semester.. including this time. And I can almost guarantee if I asked to change my schedule again, they'd say no.

"I wish I could, Aniya."

"Hi guys. Have you head about the new student?" Carly blurts, coming in without warning and scaring the absolute shit out of me.

"i swear, the next time you scare me, I'm gonna beat your ass." I replied, my voice making the statement come off as a joke.

Carly laughed, "Sorry.."

"Also, what new student?" Aniya inquired, crossing her arms over her chest and cocking an eyebrow, tilting her head slightly forward.

"He's on the other side of campus.. Hunter told me his name was William.. i forgot his last name though." Carly replies, her tone soft.

"Ohhh! Yea, i've heard of him. He's ugly as fuck." Aniya snickered, covering her mouth with the back of her hand.

"Have you heard about it, Cadence?" asked Carly, her head turning my direction.

"No. Nobody tells me shit nowadays."
"Well, Just know that he ain't worth it."

"Yo! Hey guys!" Hunter appears, a friendly smile plastered on his slightly tinted pink cheeks, an unusually shade for him.

"What's got you so pink?" Aniya smiles teasingly, putting a light hand on his shoulder.

"Oh shut up."
"Blush suits you well."
"Shut up Carly."

"Yo! Hunter! Cadence is my cutie, so get the hell away from her!" A guy calls out as he walks by, laughing with the bunch of friends he was with.

"Ok dude, First of all—" Hunter chases, his words cut off from the crowd of people engulfing the hallway.

I let out a small laugh, the bell ringing in my ears as I watch Hunter disappear into the sea of people.

"Well, thats my queue. I'll see you guys later!" I call out, starting to walk away from the two girls.

"Bye Cadence!"
"Bye darlin'."

If it hadn't have been for the crowd of people, id be in class.. but where am i? Still in the hallway.

it feels like its been forever. Even though only 10 minutes have passed, it feels like a fucking lifetime.

I can feel my phone buzzing in my pocket, but im too focused on getting to my class to even check them at the moment.

My impatience is starting to get on my nerves. The fact that these people know they have classes and yet they still huddle up in the halls pisses me off.

Well.. i can't say anything.. i do the same as well.
But not as much as these hoes do.

I end up shoving the groups of people out sight and out of my way, giving me a better path to my class. Jesus, what shit holes.

I groan and push the doors open to the classroom, greeted with a warm smile of a professor and a gesture of a hand to sit down. Of course, at this point.. I was late. But it didn't and definitely doesn't bother me in the slightest.

I sit down at the top row of seats, pulling my sash of a bag around to my lap and opening it to pull out my computer and notebooks. The abnormal stench of smoking and "flavored air" filled my nose, causing the professor to boom with anger and lecture the kids for possessing cigarettes and a vapes.

I instinctively pull out my phone and scroll through my mass amount of notifications. And my eyes greet the sight of a unknown number. At first i thought it was a spam caller/texter since i get a shit ton of those in a week. I open the text and skim through it, my eyebrows furrowing.

"Who the fuck is this?"
