"Breakfast was really good for some reason." "Right? Its never like that." "Maybe they're trying to be different today."
"Maybe so.." Aniya chuckled softly, clasping her hands infront of her.
"Hey guys! Sorry for the wait. Hunter couldn't find his phone." Carly smiled, walking up to us as Hunter walked beside of her.
"Where was it?" "In his pocket." "Even worse, In my hand."
Me, Victor and Aniya all snickered and laughed.
"In your hand??" "Thats the most ironic shit ever." "RIGHT." "i mean.. Y'all did say i would lose my head if it wasn't attached." "And we weren't kidding either."
We all laughed, smiling at each other.
I instinctively looked in my bag, checking to see if i have everything prepared for my classes. But my laptop wasn't there.
My heart drops, but then i remember that i left it in the dorm room.
"Shit— i forgot my laptop. ill meet you guys at the class hallway." "Alright, Catch ya later." "Cya then!" "Toodles!"
I smile and wave, walking off to the elevator and clicking the button for it to open.
It only took a few seconds to open, but i couldn't help but feel like someone was watching me.
I quickly walk inside, clicking the "3rd Floor" button and waiting for the doors to close.
Without me even knowing, the man that i saw at the table turned the corner at the wall and started to run.
My cheeks flushed and my eyes widened, praying that the doors would close on him and id be in the elevator alone.
i rapidly clicked the "Close Door" button, but he was already halfway up the hall.
"Hold the door!" I heard him yell, but that only made my heart race even more just by hearing his voice.
I eventually stop pressing the button, worried i was gonna break the poor thing.
As the doors started to close, he slipped inside and caught himself on the railing, panting as he ran his fingers through his hair.
"Thanks." He mumbled, his voice weak from panting so much.
I glance at him, nodding as the doors closed, "Yea. Uh— Your welcome.."
I turn my head away from him, trying to distract myself from him.
But of course, he just had to start a conversation, "Uh— i don't mean for this to sound rude— but i don't think i remember you.."
I take a deep breath, replying back in a soft tone, "Probably because your on the north side of campus.. Im on the south side.."
"Oh, your on this side then?" "Yup." "Neat.. The name's William by the way."
I scoffed, "Oh, i know. Your the talk of the campus."
William raised his eyebrows, his eyes widening, "Really? After one day?"
"Yup. Pretty much."
He scoffs, "That's funny.." "Ive actually heard a little bit about you too." "Cadence, right?"
I pause, looking up at him. I didn't realize this til now, but my god— He's tall as fuck.
"..Yea. Thats me. Who told you?" "One of my new friends i made. In fact, I'm going to see him right now." "Where're you going? Don't you have classes soon?"
I smirk, stuffing my hands in my pockets, "I could say the same thing about you.. But i have an excuse. Im going to get my laptop."
"I see.." William replies.
As i was going to say something, the elevator dinged, and the doors opened. I walked out and turned back to him, smiling gently, "Well.. It was nice talking to you. Hope to see you around!"
William smiled back and waved, "Yea, you too. Cya!"
I turn my head and gave him a peace sign, walking off down the hallway as i heard the elevator doors close once again.
... But you know what, Now that i've talked to him face to face.. Maybe he isn't as bad as people say he is.
