The woman who'd come to adopt you, Miss Paige, worked for a cat who went by Winter. Winter was the leader of ILoT, the International League of Thieves. Yep, you'd been recruited into an organization of thieves. A few other children had been recruited alongside you, a light purple dove named Lavender, a red fox named Caleb and a golden retriever named Cally. Despite the completely different backgrounds you all had, you four had grown as close as a true family with Miss Paige acting as a mother. You'd never really been told why you'd been recruited at such a young age but you'd always assumed it was to make sure your training had gone quicker. You and your group trained quite a lot. You 4 had been trained in agility, strength, and other skills needed to successfully steal things.

10 years later

You darted through the city as a hedgehog and a wolf chased after you. You checked the necklace you'd stolen was still in your pocket. "Stop that thief!!' You heard one of them shout but you kept running. Your perusers were gaining on you but you quickly pulled yourself up onto a fire escape. You darted up the stairs, the wolf and hedgehog still following after you. You made it to the top of the building and were surveying where to run next whenever you felt a clawed hand on your shoulder. The wolf growled as he said, "Now just give back the necklace, sweetheart, and we won't have to rip you to shreds." The hedgehog cracked his knuckles as she glared down at you. You pulled away from the wolf and grinned. "Bring it on, boys." The wolf lunged towards you, and you swiftly dodged, kicking him in the stomach, knocking the wind out of him. As he lay panting on the ground the hedgehog lunged at you. You quickly ducked under his attack and kicked his legs out from under him. The wolf came at you once more and you swiftly kicked him in the nose, leaving him panting and bleeding. You spotted a close enough building and jumped over onto it. It was much lower than you'd expected so you quickly tucked into a ball as you landed, quills protecting you from the rough impact. You dusted yourself off and continued to run. You leapt and climbed between buildings. Spotting the alley you returned to after every mission, you quickly jumped down, breaking the fall by grabbing the railing of a balcony before jumping the rest of the way down. You quickly survey the area before tapping 3 specific bricks in the wall. The brick wall smoothly slid open, allowing you access to the entrance security checks. You look around once the door slides closed and you did the entrance checks. You always found the heavy amount of security to be a tab bit over-kill, no one but villains knew of the ILoT not to mention if anyone wanted someone, they stole they'd have to deal with an angry buyer who just had their product stolen, not to mention ILoT agent would most likely be hired to steal it back once more. As you pulled the garnet necklace out of your pocket and turned it into the agency's receptionist, Luke, you felt someone pull you into a tight hug. "Ack! Lavender you've got to stop sneaking up on me!" Lavender let go of you but softly smiled. "Sorry! I just saw you coming back, and I got excited." You smiled. "Of course you did." Lavender paused before saying "Oh yeah! Boss wanted to see you. She says it's important." You nodded and headed off towards Winter's office. You brushed your quills into hopeful neatness before entering the room. "Winter, you asked to see me?" You looked over to see the white cat speaking with a taller man in red. "Ah and here's the agent who will be performing the heist." Winter proudly said as they looked up towards you. "(Y/N) please come here. This is Dr. Robotnik, he's requesting our services to retrieve an item from a blue hedgehog named Sonic. I'm sure you've heard of him." Your ears twitched in recognition of the name. "You mean the hero, Sonic the Hedgehog?" You grinned. This would be fun. "Yes, that Sonic. We do not know of the securities his base has, if any, so you'll be flying in blind." You chuckled. "Not like I haven't done that before!" Winter chuckled. "Don't get too cocky, (Y/N)." You nodded and turned to face the 'doctor' "So whatcha need me to steal, Doc?" The doctor grinned. "Well, that annoying blue weasel has a blue robot of mine I'd like back." Dr. Robotnik huffed. You nodded "Alright, anything else you can give me information on for this mission?" Doctor Robotnik shook his head. Winter turned to face you. "(Y/N), I assume you still have all the necessary tech for the mission?" You checked through your pockets, finding the basic tech every agent for ILoT was given once they'd completed training. It was usually all you'd need for missions, unless you were stealing from places with advanced tech. Despite the fact you had no clue of the base's security measures you knew you were skilled enough to work with just the basic tech. Heck you'd been trained to work with less. You gave Winter a quick nod and they turned back to Doctor Robotnik. "My agent will get to work now, while we finish the details of this transaction." Winter gave you a discreet hand motion, telling you that you were dismissed. You quickly exit Winter's office and head out to complete your mission. Lavender and Cally were chatting by the lockers and Lavender quickly pulled you aside. "So, what's going on? What did the boss want to talk about?" You smiled. "Lavender relax. It's just a new mission." Cally's tail wagged and she grinned. "Can we know? Pretty please?!!?!" Given she was a dog her puppy-eyes shot straight through your heart. You sighed and said "I mean Winter didn't say it was a private mission. I'm stealing a robot from Sonic the hedgehog for this guy named Dr. Robotnik." Lavender and Cally's eyes widened. "Tell us you're not joking!!" Cally bounced, tail happily wagging. She sheepishly smiled. "I'm not joking. What's the big deal?" Lavender grinned. "Sonic is THE hero of the city. I mean I don't have any issues with stealing for not so good people, but Robotnik has tried to take over Mobius multiple times... Sonic and his friends always stop him..." You frowned. "Well in my eyes a mission is a mission. At least he didn't ask me to take anyone hostage, he just asked for a robot back, which is reasonable." Lavender and Cally hesitantly nodded. "True..." Cally and Lavender look at each other, exchanging a worried look before Cally quickly said, "Don't let us hold up your mission!" You nodded and quickly exited the base. Every Mobian knew where Sonic's base was. It was a miracle the place wasn't flooded with fans or people. You sat on a building close to the base, scooping the area. The base didn't seem to have any security cameras around it, but you would still be cautious when approaching the base. Taking out a scope you looked through the lens. You could see you were on the side of the building where a workshop was. The robot was probably stored there, right? You put your scope away and hopped down, performing a tuck and roll before standing up and dusting yourself off. You cautiously approached the side of the building. You didn't notice anything out of the blue. No security, no alarms. It was odd. You approached a window, checking for any indicator breaking would cause an alarm to go off. Again nothing. This is starting to seem shockingly easy. "Maybe they think they'd be able to defend themselves from threats?" You murmured to yourself as you began to cut a hole in the glass of the window using a glass cutter. You stuck a knife under the cut and quickly caught the piece of glass that fell away. You set it aside but before you entered you pulled out a heat signature scanner, just in case there were lasers. You scanned the area and found nothing out of the ordinary. You slipped inside quickly spotting the robot you'd been tasked to find. It was a metallic blue and silver robot. It seemed to be shut down. You hoped you could find a way to power it on, so you didn't have to drag it out of the base. That would be annoying. You searched around the robot until you found a small golden yellow colored device with a twin fox tail symbol on it. You removed it from the robot, and it quickly powered to life, red eyes flicking over towards you. "Good you still turn on. Listen we- ACK!!" We squirmed furiously as the robot clamped its metal claws around your neck. You choked and coughed. Sure, you'd been trained to fight Mobians stronger than you, but a robot was out of your league. "L-let go...!" You manage to choke out. The robot did NOT let go. "Who are you?!" It asked in a robotic mono-tone voice. "I'm (Y/N)!!" You coughed, clawing at its metal hands. "I was sent here by Dr. Robotnik to get you!!" The robot released its grip around your neck, letting you stumble back. You rubbed your neck and panted as you caught your breath. "My creator sent you to get me?" The robot questioned. "Yes!" You grumbled. "Now if you'll just follow me-" You were cut short as the robot prompt spindashed through another window. You give him a 'seriously?!' look before you exited out through the broken window. "I'm assuming you're coming back with me?" You questioned the metal hedgehog. The robot's head swiveled to face you. "No. I will return to my creator on my own." You frowned. "Uh, here let me report that I found you and you are returning on your own." You pressed the button on your communicator. "(Y/N) to base. I have retrieved the robot requested by Robotnik. However, the robot has decided to return to its creator on its own." Luke's voice came through the communicator. "Thank you (Y/N). Client and boss will be informed. Make your way back to base." You gave the metal hedgehog a nod and it quickly took off, heading back to wherever his boss's base was. You began running back through the city, climbing up fire escapes, jumping between buildings and honestly having fun. As you entered H.Q. you felt Winter's hand on your shoulder. "(Y/N) do you remember what today is?" You froze trying to recall if you'd forgotten a meeting or a mission you'd been assigned. Winter took your silence as your admittance of not knowing. She chuckled at your worried look. "Relax! You're not in trouble or anything. It's your birthday... Well, it's the anniversary of you joining our team! I wanted to take you out to celebrate tonight!" You felt a faint blush of embarrassment on your face. "Thank you, Winter. You don't have to do this... I'm fine with not celebrating." Winter patted you on the shoulder. "Non-sense. Get your nicest outfits and we're going out to party!" Winter walked off. Lavender softly chuckled. "Looks like we've got to help you pick an outfit for tonight." Cally was bouncing behind her, tail wagging, eyes wide and hopeful. You couldn't help but smile.
