Unforgettable

For 3 days ,my mom locked herself in the bedroom. I could hear silent cries coming from behind the black coal painted door. I had awoken to man nights of screaming through her physical, I assume at Tony.
Work had practically kept me busy for most of this week , so it was easy to not be in contact with her. I wanted to hug her , apologize but she seemed to broken and twisted up I hadn't wanted to overstep.
Part of me felt like she had zero reasoning to be angry at me , but at him. I wasn't even sure why she seemed to be angry and hurt at me .
I flipped on my light , dragging my body to get dressed . Fridays are long and busy, and with everything going on I was grateful that I had a 2,000 comic truck coming in to restock. Thus meaning I didn't have to deal with any customers today.
Tass was already checking in the order when I arrived, so I placed my lunch into our break room mini fridge . I grabbed the clip board from him and started counting each book , in the boxes, making sure the numbers and books matched . He sent a smile across his face and winked . I through up a peace sign and went to the back to sort all the new arrivals by name.
12pm hit sooner than expected. I had just filed the last invoice when tass appeared, keys in hand.
He smiled both sides of his mouth wide on both sides and asked me " We slowed down wanna grab a coffee and a small bite of lunch ?"
" I brought leftovers , but thanks, I smiled back"
" Come on , we have both worked hard, we deserve it! He insisted "
" I only have enough money for gas , but thanks for being generous "
"Okay , you snooze you lose , he smirked , nose wrinkled "
I Sent to fingers above my head , wishing him luck out there before heading to the break room.
I was about to take a bite of my steak and potatoes when Tass came through , 2 coffees in hand and a bag of burritos with chips and dip.
" I didn't know what coffee so I asked the lady what you always get , he breathed heavily "
" You did not have to do that ! I brought lunch you dork , I replied gently punching his shoulder . "
" Little lady , you worked extremely hard this week , between organizing the back room and tackling that huge truck in under 4 hours , we deserved a hard break , he cocked a slight attitude "
" oh and I also locked the front door  for the next hour , so enjoy your lunch , he added "
So I did, I finished reading The great Gatsby, and finished my coffee. The dip warmed my stomach , along with the dip that took the hunger pains away.
He walked past me, wiggled the keys and proceeded to unlock the door . Five teenagers pushing in .
The tall one eager to get in 1st said , " I'm 100% getting the new Venom comic , it has limited edition, bonus actions ,and it's signed by the Stan Lee."
" Okay ? Marvel is overrated , DC is way better bro. The smaller slimmer boy said , his ego circulating "
"How about both of you agree to disagree , didn't pastor just talk about pride ? The brown haired , green eyed kid boldly responded "
" Yeah? Do you listen to everything that man says , the taller boy laughed , it lingered as if we were in a mountain cave "
" You should , said Tass , stepping into view , It might do you some good "
" Tassian , aren't you covered in tattoos ? Who are you to judge us ? Said the taller one "
" I am , 100% covered head to toe . Does that mean I can't lead and direct ? Don't we all fall short ? Your pastors are there to equip and guide you, your pastor was only giving you what the word of God says . What's your name boy ? He asked , kindly but cautiously "
" Tony, and these 2 are my friends , Daniel and Kingsley, answering with confidence "
"We'll Tony, just be an our friend disagree doesn't mean we should say things , hurtful things. Mr Kingsley was correct your pastor spoke wisdom ! Try listening a time or two "
I stared at Tass, I could see stars , confidence , like he was somebody else but in a good way. He stared back , gave a smile then went to the boys giving them advice on the better comic choices .
Home was quiet , and felt dark. I turned the corner and my mom was standing in the hallway , staring at me tears streaming. I couldn't tell if she was gonna fall apart there , she stood their heart on her chest . She stared at me , her little girl , her beautiful baby girl .
She dropped , hiring the floor , I dove towards her.
" Mom are you okay? I ask"
" I am so sorry , I didn't see the signs Hun, why was I so distracted?"
" Mom , I- , It's- Mom I understand, you were dealing with other issues , I stuttered , the pressure of tears coming into my throat "
" But I should have noticed, I should've know that something happened, she cried in agony "
" Mom , I don't blame anyone but him , I know you did so much for us to survive , to get by ....., I  said as I hugged her tighter "
    " Huney, I won't ever let this happen, again ! "
" I love you mom."
" I love you too , she said as I wrapped my arms around her."
I finally laid mom into bed , covering her up . She hasn't sleep for a few days ? So I know she needed it.
I took a small bath, as I lay there, staring at the white ceiling, wondering what was going to happen from here.
I finished in the bath and threw on some nighttime pajamas, curled into bed and asked the universe to give me peace and quiet for the next couple of weeks.
Sunday night had finally come, I was getting ready when I heard a ring at the door. I threw my Jeans and t-shirt on the bed and walked down the stairs to the front door. Opening the door , standing there , smile on his beautiful face was Tassian.
He smiled wide before saying " you look stunning , he blushed"
" Thanks , I was just finishing up, you know I could have driven, I tilted at him with a hard stare"
" I invited you to a date , so we will do thing the old fashioned way, "
" this , this is a date ? I said , face red hot"
" we'll— no , Yes , I think he stuttered , and looked away awkwardly "
" we'll, as long as you don't try and kiss me at the end of the night we're good , I joked "
" I - I captain! He saluted "
" You can sit at the table, while I finish up "
" Okay , take your time, I am patient "
His car , a beautiful, 2017 Toyota Tundra, it was covered with black paint , like the midnight sky. His interior beautifully leather, tan and comfortable. I'm the seat had a massager , he laughed at me as I turned it on. I asked him questions , before arriving , my heart pounding, why was I worried ? This was a fun event , and I was going to make friends and have fun .
We pulled in to a beautiful white brick building , it had beautiful cherry blossoms lining the concrete driveway. Two older men stood outside waving and parking people . My heart thundered , nervous and terrified but willing to try . L
The inside of the building was toasty , and welcoming. Everyone so nice and offering handshakes , along with hugs. I smiled , introduced myself, then found a seat on the third row. There was a song playing, lightly in front of us . A lady on a beautiful, wooden stained piano played a soft melody. As I continued to stare I recognized her face . Walmart, that's where I'd seen her . Anger filled me. My skin boiling over , and tass knew , he knew because he attended her . I chose not to make an even and leave . I was scared people who judge
Me . I squirmed in my seat , the seats were hard but cushioned . I kept staring at the woman. Tads saw my glance and said
" That's Nancy perks, she's our pianist."
I chose not to engage , I didn't want to lose a friend .
They played 3 songs , and on the last one a man , short but wide , stood up , he whispered to a man in a suite and grabbed the worship leaders mic.
" Has anyone here seen a hip pop and reposition? He asked "
Some shook their heads yes , some shrugging, and nervously smiled . I was confused it also intrigued.
I watched as this ladies spine , popped and straightened. Her feet that were once uneven now were level , and she stood back and shoulders straight as a board. I gasped, and laughed , I was grateful for the lady not being in pain .
The same young man, who spoke to the pastor came and gave me a slight handshake , thanking me for joining them.
As I walked to tassians car I thought of what to ask him . How to start the conversation, but not be awkward. He turned towards me , smile from both edges of his mouth and spoke
        " Did you have fun?"
" Yes I did , I enjoyed it and that I woman , the way her back just fixed ! I screeched "
" Yes we believe in healing and restoration. You're welcome to come on Sunday morning too ! "
" Thanks but I have tons of renovations and things to do, and with all my family drama .. I cut off"
" We'll if you change your mind ,  next Sunday our youth is doing a Flow like fire service , I can get you, if your interested "
" Thanks Tass for getting me out of the house, and relaxing a bit "
He smiled , shutting the car door .
Mondays are a dread. Full of gloom and sleepless circles under your eyes.I roll over , on my right side , barely an inch and a half and BAM , face contacted with Hardwood. My mouth split In two leaving a throbbing pain followed by a sharp sting. I stand up and lean against the bed. " Here goes another crappy day "
Work was slow , I mainly workers on paperwork and logging returned comics . Tass hadnt come out of his office since we got here , he barely even glance at me. I shook the thought , and returned to logging.
About a hour later Tass opened the office door, smile across his face . As bee turned the corner of my office, he handed me a card, with a date and time.
" What is this? I asked "
" It's an invitation to our next meeting, he smirked "
" y'all give out invites?"
" No but your birthdays in a month and I thought it would be cute"
" We'll thanks, I'll put it on my calendar "
His eyes glowed, differently, like a dog with a bone, or a flower on a sunny day.

We hit a quarter to 6, when Tass started to lock the doors. I pulled both drawers and counted them until they were back to $100. He went on about how much the church enjoyed me visiting. The older ladies apparently were excited because, there was now a younger and more mobile woman. Their youth group had two thirteen-year-olds and one teenage boy who was turning fifteen. Their children church had barley three kids every Sunday morning and night. I stepped to the front as he set the alarm, and as I walked to my car, him assisting me, he stopped on the sidewalk.

" You know you're welcome to any service not just when I invite you"

" I smiled, that sounds good, I will try and see what I have going on."

" Okay and we also do Wednesday night services, thus why we close at 4 on Wednesdays, he said as he bumped his shoulder against mine."

"Thanks Tass, have a lovely night."

TASSIAN

I watched as Huney got into her 2016 Dodge avenger and sped off. My heart was still pounding as I got into my car and drove off the street. Her sweet-smelling perfume still lingered in the air.

The nighttime air felt good pushing against my face. I could drive for hours praying and thanking God. I drove for 30 minutes praying for Huney. She was so beautiful, talented and kind but, God had revealed the darker parts of her to me. Although I had no idea about her past life, I could see it in her golden, brown eyes that she was trying to escape her demons. I never knew how fast you can grow to enjoy another's company until I met her! She wasn't like the others I had worked with she was different. She was the 1st person I had invited to church that actually didn't make up excuses. This woman was so feisty and determined, it took her one whole day to organize and sort everything in my office. It was a disaster, and I don't know she did it, but she was a creation made from God. Her ambition and love for her education was my favorite characteristic about her during her interview.

I pulled into my home, gravel driveway, 4bd3bth barn dominium. The home had been gifted to me as a gift from my parents who were now both gone. The peace and quiet, no neighbors for miles. As I enter into my home, a sweet vanilla tart burning. Its smell sweeping the room. Setting the keys into the wooden bowl, I hung my black leather jacket on the hook. I hadn't stopped for dinner, so instead I grab a TV dinner and headed up the stairs to my loft bedroom.

The bedroom designed, painted in a simple beautiful grey and wrapped in love by my beautiful mother. her memory still lingers. Every night I ask God to send me a wife as kindhearted as my mother. I sit here daily wondering why so soon God. Why couldn't they both just be here, seeing my progress. That miracles do happen, because of prayer.

I turned in my bed, tears falling down my face, and remembered all those beautiful unforgettable moments. I grabbed my bible and opened up Matthew chapter 6 then prayed for myself and for friends. I prayed for Huney, and her struggle, and I knew then, God was chasing after her. Right then my eyes were opened, Huney had never knew Jesus, I smiled up to heaven, praying for a new life for her. She needed him, and he was using me as a messenger, an apostle. I didn't know her, but I was determined to know her. I raised a hand in surrender, thanking God for a wonderful opportunity.
