The Wait

Rampo, Yosano, and Kaizer were sitting on some benches outside of the hall.
"Man, they sure are taking a while." Rampo is impatient as well. "You think something happened?"
"What, what could've happened?" Kaizer sounded nervous and creeped out at the same time. "Are they okay?"
Rampo started walking down the hall and towards the room we went in, "One way to find out."
Kaizer is way too nervous, maybe even for me, "What if, what if we disturb them and it doesn't work?" He grabbed Rampo's wrist gently and tugged on his sleeve to pull him back, "We shouldn't go in there and disrupt them."
"Who cares, I'm tired of the wait." He pulled his sleeve out of Kaizer's grasp and kept walking.
Yosano followed excitedly. "Sweet! Crashing the party!" To Yosano, anything is fun or a party.
"What, well, wait, at least wait for me, I don't wanna be alone in this creepy place!" Kaizer ran to catch up with them.
They made it down the dimly lit hall and faced the door.
Rampo grabbed the doorknob and turned it, "It's locked."
"Locked!? What, why! Are they okay!?" We couldn't hear Kaizer's overly worried yell from inside of the room.
Rampo stepped back, crossing his arms, "Guess we have to deal with the wait after all."
Yosano quickly put her ear against the door to try and listen in. She was probably trying to be one of those detectives from the movies.
Her face went from excitement to curiosity in an instant when she could hear the faint chanting of the women, "It doesn't sound human?" She tried getting closer to the door, "It sounds like some weird ritual?"
"What?" Rampo stepped up, "Let me hear."
Yosano stepped away from the door and Rampo put his ear against it.
He almost looked surprised, "It sounds demonic, let's find a different way in."
He started walking to the other rooms, checking the knobs. Most of the doors were locked. One of them opened and he walked in, leaving Yosano and Kaizer in the hall. Yosano put her ear back against the door to hear and Kaizer just kinda looked like a lost scared puppy.
"C'mon, K twin, listen in with me!" Yosano probably can't tell them apart. Not surprising.
"What, no, no, that's, I can't do that, it's invading..." He looked around nervously.
"Then go help Ramp' make a lockpick!" She didn't look at him.
Kaizer sighed knowing it was a pointless battle then cautiously walked into the open door that Rampo went in.
He looked at the doorway seeing Kaizer, "Hey, do you know how to use these materials to make a picklock?"
He laid out the materials, there was a paperclip, string, pliers, and some tape.
"I, I still don't think it's a good ide-"
"So, that's a no? Great."
"No, I know how, I just-"
"So, help a friend out by making this picklock for your buddy Rampo, m'kay?"
"Fine..." Kaizer looked at the materials, pushed up his glasses and got to work.
He used the pliers to bend the paperclip properly then tied the string tight to the curved end.
He sounded at ease, calmer and happier than when we all arrived, "There was no use for the tape, but the string can be used to pull out the paperclip if it gets stuck." Kaizer held up the lockpick by the string.
Rampo actually seemed a bit impressed, he took the lockpick, "That was quick, guess those books aren't just a coverup for falling asleep in class." His sarcastic tone and remark hid how amazed he was though.
They both exited the room and quietly walked to the door. It was quiet, quieter than before. Kaizer was once again scared, walking behind Rampo, but less timid than before. Yosano stepped aside and put her hands out in an 'after you' motion. Rampo put the lockpick in the keyhole and turned it. It worked. He grabbed the knob and turned it.
When they walked in they could see the woman reciting some sort of demon spell. Kazeer and I were still holding hands even though it probably didn't matter anymore. As soon as she turned her head to see them it was dead silent and she looked annoyed.
After a few seconds she laughed like there wasn't anything wrong with what she was doing then spoke, "Well, the more the merrier." And with that she said another piece of her chant. The wait would've been worth it, because now, it's five instead of two.
