At least school was out. That was the good part. However... I still had to deal with these idiots. They seemed to be going through the same thing I am, so, I'm stuck with them. The school project was a good excuse to talk without being suspicious. My parents knew me as the quiet girl at school, never making friends, and certainly never bringing any home.
We didn't go inside, money doesn't grow on trees y'know, so, our house isn't the biggest. But we live in a small part of town, it's peaceful, calm, quiet. So we went in the treehouse my dad built for me a few years back. It hasn't been used until now.
When we walked in there was a tree branch as part of the roof, it wasn't fully built so there was some light coming through the ceiling, plus the little unfinished window. The branch was connected to the tree itself, which was part of the wall, that's how we climb up, there's a ladder nailed into it. A white board was nailed into the wall, I used to come up here and draw in my free time. In short, it was a basic, unused, treehouse.
"Woah a house in a tree!" Yosano's eyes practically sparkled.
Rampo face palmed, "It's a treehouse dumb-"
"Okay Kalliz, we gotta figure out what's going on here," Cut in at the perfect time Kazeer, "I think it's pretty cool." He's crazy... 100% he's insane.
"What do you mean 'pretty cool' we're getting weird paranormal signs, we have no clue what they mean or what they're coming from, and you think that's cool!?" They say great minds think alike, I was thinking the same thing as Kaizer, but... He's definitely much, much different... Please don't compare us.
"Okay, stop arguing," Fixing the conversation, we're already off topic, I always have markers on hand, prepare for anything and everything, "Let's be civil about this. What information do we know?"
"We know that it said your name?" Pointing out the obvious, but it's still pretty helpful for once. Especially since it's Yosano. "And we all heard it."
"... Good job... Yo-yo," Rampo was more surprised than the rest of us.
I wrote it down.
"Let's get the facts straight," Kaizer pushed up his glasses, "After we went to the paranormal 'meeting' run by a woman who looked around 40, we've been hearing voices. These voices only say Kalliza's name, as far as we know, and can say sentences with it as well. Our shadows don't change with the sun, they only follow our movements like usual at any and every time. No one else can hear these voices, and we're using a school project as our cover up. Did I miss anything?"
I think that's everything? Right...?
"Nerd alert! Boo! Off the stage!" Kazeer was yelling across the treehouse, sitting on a bean bag. He threw a paper ball at Kaizer.
"What? I am not a nerd, I just pay attention," His twin defended, "And where did you get a bean bag and paper from? The treehouse was completely empty?"
After a while, you learn not to question anything these people have done or still do. It may not seem like it, but it certainly feels like I've been around them too long. Might catch the 'stupid'. I'm going crazy and it's only been a week.
"I brought it up here," Kazeer unintentionally didn't let Kaizer question further, "We should really fix up this place."
"Ooh! I wanna fancy up the treehouse!" Yosano jumped and clapped her hands, "Sounds fun!"
"You mean decorate?" Rampo crossed his arms.
"That's what I said, isn't it?"
We spent the rest of the afternoon decorating, or, in Yosano's words, 'fancying up' the treehouse. Well, by we I mean them. I didn't help at all, other than having to be a babysitter for Kazeer and Yosano. No painting my treehouse, that should be obvious. It, and I can't believe I'm admitting this, didn't look too bad once they finished. There were some bean bag chairs, art canvases, paintings, musical instruments, and any other things we wanted in there for fun and entertainment. None of them made sense to me, I mean, I guess Yosano does like painting, she's not good at it, but she likes it. But why are there musical instrument-
"I want the guitar first!" Kazeer shot his hand up as if we were in school and stood up just as fast from his bean bag.
"No one else wanted it but you, you don't have to-"
"Yay!" Kazeer cut off his twin and took the guitar.
There's no way he was actually good at guitar, him of all people, Mr. Mood Swings, crazy new kid. I mean, it's so unordin-
Nevermind. I have a new favorite instrument. Now, now, don't get me wrong, he's the most annoying guy on the planet, right before my father and our principal. But surprisingly, some sort of way, somehow, he could actually play the guitar. It calmed all of us down, even me. Until we heard the one thing that would've made us the most stressed, probably.
