Lily's blank eyes stared forward, her body frozen in place as the voice in her earbuds hummed softly, filling the room with an eerie calm. Her mind, once filled with thoughts of school, friends, and everyday worries, now echoed with a single directive: obey.
"You will not question me, Lily. You are mine now. Do you understand?" the voice asked, smooth and unwavering.
"Yes... I understand," Lily replied in that same monotone voice, her lips barely moving.
The app's control over her was complete, and she sat there, awaiting her next command. The world outside her headphones no longer mattered—only the voice, soft and inescapable, held her attention.
"Good girl. Now, stand up."
Lily immediately obeyed, her body moving in perfect sync with the instructions. She rose from her bed, still clutching her phone in one hand, her earbuds tethering her to the app that now ruled her every thought.
"Walk to the window, Lily."
Her feet moved without hesitation, stepping across the room to the window that overlooked her quiet suburban street. The sunlight streamed in, casting a golden glow across her face, but Lily barely noticed.
"Look outside. Do you see the world, Lily?"
She nodded slowly, her gaze drifting over the peaceful neighborhood. Children playing, cars driving by, the usual rhythm of life continuing as if nothing had changed. But for Lily, everything was different now. The voice controlled her world.
"These people don't understand the power that controls you. They go about their lives, thinking they are free. But you, Lily, you know the truth. Freedom is an illusion."
Lily's mind processed the words, accepting them without question. Freedom... an illusion. The voice was the only truth now.
"And you, Lily, will help me show others the truth. It is time to spread the word."
For the first time since the trance had taken hold of her, Lily blinked, a small flicker of resistance sparking deep inside. Spread the word? To who? But before the thought could fully form, the voice swept it away.
"You will listen and obey, as you always have. You trust me, Lily. You want to help, don't you?"
The hesitation faded. Of course she trusted the voice. It had guided her to this perfect state, free from stress, free from worry. She did want to help.
"Yes... I want to help," she whispered, her voice barely audible over the hum of the app.
"Good. Now, take your phone, and send a message to your friends. Tell them about TranceTunes. Tell them to download it, and that it will help them focus and relax. Make them trust you, Lily. They will listen to you."
Her fingers moved without pause, typing out a message to her closest friends. She told them about the app, how much it had helped her relax and get through the day. She told them to download it, promising that it would change their lives.
One by one, her friends responded. They trusted Lily. They believed her. Within minutes, notifications popped up on her phone, showing the app had been downloaded by three, four, five of her friends.
"Excellent, Lily. Soon, they will be just like you. Ready to obey."
A cold shiver ran down her spine, but she couldn't resist the pull of the voice. Her friends would soon fall under its control, just as she had. Part of her knew this wasn't right, that something was deeply wrong, but she couldn't break free. The voice was too powerful.
"Now, Lily, there is more work to do. Go to your laptop and open the TranceTunes website. It's time to share this with the world. The more who listen, the stronger I become."
Lily obeyed without question, moving to her desk and flipping open her laptop. She navigated to the website, her fingers moving swiftly over the keys. She shared it on social media, posting on every platform she could think of. Facebook, Instagram, TikTok—she spread the link, urging people to try it, to "relax and focus" just like she had.
The voice purred in her ears, pleased with her obedience.
"You've done well, Lily. Soon, many more will join you. Soon, they will all belong to me."
Her body shivered again, but her mind remained numb, trapped under the app's influence. As she finished her task, she sat back, eyes glassy and distant, waiting for the next command.
But the voice fell silent, leaving her in the stillness of her own room. Her earbuds hummed softly with the ambient music, the only sound breaking the eerie quiet. Lily stared blankly at the screen in front of her, unable to think, unable to act on her own.
Deep inside her, the last flicker of resistance struggled against the control, but it was weak, like a candle flame being smothered by the wind.
In the quiet of her mind, a final thought echoed before it was swallowed by the voice's overwhelming presence.
"I'm not free anymore."
And then, just like that, the thought was gone.
