THE ASSIGNMENT OF LOVE

(CHAPTER 13)

On the same night Sophia was watching the television in her bedroom she started to feel something unusual. She again started to talk herself and said “oh god! Am I missing the person who doesn’t even care about me? Huh! How jerk I am.” She took her phone and called rahul when her phone rings she realize and said “oh my god why I am calling him? Am I mad or what” she was about to cut the call but that was too late rahul already picked up the call he said “hello?”  She was so embarrassed and with the embarrassment she answered “hello! How are you?” (Awkwardly laughing) rahul replied “I am fine. Why did you call?” she thinks for a sec and said “actually your mom told me to call you she is standing in front of me she is saying hello” rahul replied “but how I just talked with her and she said she is in her friend’s house.” Sophia whispered “I messed up the situation, what I should say?” rahul asked “are you here?” Sophia replied “yes I am here” rahul said “tell me why you called” she replied “by mistake. I called you by mistake and that was so embarrassing so I lied” rahul said “so you missed me?” Sophia replied “yes!” rahul said “what you really” Sophia replied “no! I was not missing you when I said yes I was thinking something else. Don’t you have work to do, go work don’t waste your time BYE!” she cut the call. Rahul just smirks and enjoyed the situation. Meanwhile Sophia who almost died from embarrassment finding the place in her room to hide from herself.
     The next day when Sophia was having breakfast with her in laws. Her mother in laws said “this boy is getting on my nerves” Sophia asked “what happen mom?”  She replied “it’s been almost 4 days he went on the business trip but he didn’t even call me once” Sophia said “what? But aren’t you to have talked yesterday in your friend’s house?” she replied “talked in my friend’s house? Who said to you all my friend’s live in abroad I was home yesterday. And why I am complaining about him here if we have already talked? Who gives you the wrong information?” Sophia said “I am sorry I misunderstood” and whispered “that jerk! He lied to me that he already talked with her mother” “what are you saying?” Mrs. Roy asked. Sophia replied “huh? Nothing!” (Awkward laugh). She said “okay mom I’ll be get going. Bye” while she was in her car she started talking with herself and said “so he already knew I called him intentionally but he played fool. He would’ve told me. But no he choose to embarrass me. That dog poop!” her driver who was listening to her said “sorry mam! But what did I do wrong?” Sophia replied “nothing. Why did you ask?” he said “you called me dog poop so I thought” Sophia replied “oh that! No that was not for you but for someone who is driving me crazy these days” Sophia was working in her office late at night. She looked at the clock and said “it is very late” she called her driver and said “Mr. Sharma you can leave I am not done working yet” he asked “mam then who will drop you home?” Sophia replied “I'll go with my car it is parked in our company’s parking yard you should go. Good night” he said “okay mam! Go home safely. Good night” she continues to work but after a while she hears a voice, the voice of footsteps. The light of the company was already switched off except her office she can’t see anything from inside. She was scared and took out her chili spray. She stood silently from her chair and started to move slowly toward her office’s exit. When she was about to open the door but before the person on the other side opened it. She screamed loudly and sprayed chili spray on that person. When she switched on the lights of outside cabins she saw the person was no one but her husband rahul. In shock she said “Oh my god rahul you! Standup” rahul was screaming “ouch! Ouch! It hurts! Ahhhh!” his eyes and face were totally red the water was coming out from his eyes and nose he wasn’t able to see anything. Sophia put some water in his eyes to calm him down. After a while rahul said with anger but in a shivering voice “this is the 2nd time you are hurting me.” Sophia replied “I am sorry but this time it wasn’t intentional” rahul said “so last when you kicked me out of the bed was intentional?” Sophia replied “No! I mean I thought you were a thief or murderer who wanted to kill me that’s why I took a safety weapon for me” she started to warm his eyes with her handkerchief and asked “when you arrived in India? And why are you here?” he replied “I arrived in the evening. And my dad told me to pick you  up so I came here. Which is the biggest mistake” he gave her an annoyed look. She awkwardly smiles and continues to warm his eyes with full dedication. But he side his face and said “that’s enough.” She replied “but your eyes and nose are still very red” rahul said “thanks to you! Let’s go home I am very tired and sleepy” in the car Sophia said “if you were coming to pick me up then you should at least call me. There is no point in giving me a surprise you only end up hurting” rahul replied “I called you. You are the one who didn’t pick up. I am not here to surprise you it’s just an order my dad gave to me and I have to follow it. Kill your delusions” Sophia said “I am not being delusional I mean it. Last time when I called you, you already knew everything but acted like a fool so you can embarrass me so I thought this time again you are lying.” Rahul replied “you didn’t tell me why you called me last time” Sophia replied “and again you are an acting fool. I told you that time only” rahul replied “I didn’t remember I was in a hurry. You can tell me now” Sophia said “nothing I called you by mistake I was about to call my friend” rahul replied “oh so that’s the thing” (Smirks).
