The new ones

Chapter 1

I'm running but I need to stop. I can't they will catch me. Why are they doing this? What have we ever done to them?

I duck a tree and can hear them saying something so I stop and hide in a hollow tree trunk where they can not see me.

"We have to bring this one back otherwise Shalom will beat us using that army of hers" one of the men said.

They stopped right where I was hiding staying here might get me caught but ill know what they want from us.

"Look I'm sure there are a few kids hiding out hear we catch one and bring em back" the other said.

I moved a little to the left so they couldn't see me than 'snap' oh crap I stood a twig.

"Did you hear that?" The first guy asked.

The two of them started to move closer to where I was hiding so close I had to cover my mouth so they wouldn't hear me breath.

one of them were about to look where I was hiding so I grabbed a rock ready to make a diversion but I didn't need to a little girl a few years younger maybe 5 years old ran past.

"Little girl" the second man called out.

Surprisingly she came back but kept her distance. I dot think she knew what was about to happen I wish I could warn her but it would cost me my freedom from this terrible plague.

"What's wrong sweetheart" the first guy said acting all sweet.

"My mummy tried to put me in a sack so that she can get a prize. I didn't like this game so I ran away" the little girl mumbled under some sobs.

"Well if you come with us we'll take you somewhere safe" the first guy said again as the second one put out his grubby hand for the little girl to take.

Reluctantly she took it without a second thought. I was about to jump out and save her when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see a 13 year old girl looking at me.

"Shhh" she put her finger up to her lips and I nodded.

She looked out around me to see if anyone was there but they had already taken the girl.

"I am Jess. I have been hiding for over 15 months I can take you where myself and others have been hiding" she said.

I couldn't tell if she was apart of the army or legit. The only way you can tell that someone is apart of the army they have the swift symbol burnt into their chest than a necklace chain which chooks you if you get out of line.

The swift symbol is a circle inside a circle than a line straight through the middle followed by a diagonal line from the top left hand corner to the bottom right hand corner.

I looked at Jess hard. She new what I was thinking so she undid her jacket just to see the bottom half of her neck and there was nothing.

"Do you want to come?" She asked.

"Yes please get me out of hear" I replied as the two of us got out of the tree trunk.

She started to run towards a tree without a thought of stopping than she just ran through It.

My mouth hung open as her hand popped out to motion me in. I took a deep breath and started to run towards the tree when a hand grabbed my shoulder and hoisted me up so my feet were off the ground.

"Got ya" one of the men from before said with triumph.

I started to wriggle but he had a good grip in me.
