New Found Hope

New Found Hope
A fallen soldier, thinking his life is over
A hopeful girl, showing him what life is
Him thinking he doesn't deserve her
Her thinking he deserves a lot more
"You need a winner, not me" he says
"You're always a winner in my eyes" she assures
"The moon is beautiful, isn't it?" They both say
She was his "new found hope"
He was her "always meant to be"
But soon it all ended
He had to fight again, not in battle
But for her, the love of his life
His fear of war stopped him,
His love for her overcame it.
