Woodsboro has always had a special history. A serial killer set foot in the town in 1996 and it all began one evening when a teenage girl was at home and thought she was safe. Casey Becker was the killer's second victim and she was one of the most memorable. That evening, the teenager was making herself some popcorn when she received a call. She had not been suspicious of the telephone and had answered without suspecting that she was about to converse with a serial killer and, above all, the person who would brutally take her life. The killer didn't stop there and continued to hunt down other people, claiming more victims along the way except for one person whom the masked killer never managed to kill, no matter what she looked like. Sydney Prescott had always eluded him, she was the ultimate final girl, and Ghostface was determined to kill her, all because she was the daughter of Maureen Prescott, a woman who had made a huge mistake in the past.

Since then, a number of people have taken up the torch of the masked killer known as Ghostface, each of them as deranged as the next and with different motives - some acted under pressure, others to gain the fame they thought they deserved and the rest for pure pleasure. Who would have thought that two teenagers who went berserk would have created something of such magnitude.

The town of Woodsboro had known its hours of glory, under the cinema spotlight and their reality distorted by the somewhat exaggerated words of Gale Weather in her books, she had turned her experience into a series of books and her books had given birth to a film franchise called STAB. The franchise had become a success, the story of Ghostface and his victims appealed enormously, everyone knew the story of the killer and some were still convinced that it was just the figment of some horror fanatic's imagination despite all the evidence that the events had really taken place.

The killer had struck in 1996, 1997 and 1998 before reappearing in 2011. Since 2011 there has been no new Ghostface, his last attack having targeted a group of friends who had gathered for a night out that turned tragic. That year, Kirby Reed had faced so much, she had remained strong and was not ready for the big revelation: her best friend was in fact the masked killer. Jill Roberts had fooled everyone by playing the innocent victim until the final act when she revealed her identity to the survivors.

At the time Jane was just a little girl, her parents had left her home alone with instructions to lock all the doors and not to open them for any reason. She was as quiet as a mouse and listened to her parents, but during the night she heard screams in her street, she went down the stairs and looked out of the window, she was holding the house fixture and was in the middle of a conversation with the police.

- Hello, I think there's something going on in my street. There's shouting all over the street. Jane was talking to Sheriff Riley's deputy, Judy Hicks. I'm scared. Judy asked from the other end of the phone for her address and Jane immediately cooperated, then hung up the phone and put it back on its cradle.

Kirby Reed ran along the street shouting for help and when she saw a light on the porch of a house, Kirby went to the light and knocked repeatedly, she had lost a lot of blood and was crying.

- The door has to stay closed. Jane said to herself from the other side of the door, hesitating to unlock the door and let Kirby in. She's losing blood, we've got to help her. Jane weighed up the pros and cons in her head, finally opening the door and letting Kirby in despite her parents' instructions. Are you all right? Jane asked Kirby how she was, worried to see so much blood on the teenager's clothes.

- Thanks little one, where are your parents? Kirby locked the door and turned out all the lights. I need to borrow a phone and call the emergency services. She saw Jane's frightened look. I'm fine, I've just had a nasty knock. Don't worry.

- I'm at home on my own. My parents went out. Jane replies.

- You shouldn't have let me in. It's dangerous to let strangers in. What's your name? Kirby was relieved that little Jane had opened the door to his home.

- Jane. She was very shy and played with the sleeves of her pyjamas. Jane Peterson. The little girl went into the bathroom and brought some bandages for Kirby, they were too small but it was the thought that counted. Here, I got you some bandages. She handed the bandages to Kirby.

- You didn't answer me earlier, but could you lend me a phone? I really need to call an ambulance. Kirby said, pressing against her wounds to stop the bleeding.

- I called the police a few minutes ago. Jane admits.

- Jane, you probably saved my life. Kirby fainted, she had held on as long as she could.

The police arrived a few minutes later and Kirby was taken to the nearest hospital, where she was treated while Jane waited with her parents for news of the teenager in one of the waiting rooms.
