The flight to California was a long six hours for Lora , she couldn't wait to see her Mum again.
Sarah was leaving the country for Africa by the weekend so she wanted to drop Rio off at Bella's .
Bella owned a pent house in California she had bought it a while back. She used to live alone but had recently bought a cat and hired a few maids.
The plan landed in California at about 04:00 pm . They drove to a nearby hotel and got two rooms for themselves .
Sarah had gone out to get them some food to eat and had given Lora her phone so she could talk to Sophie.
"Hey mum"
"Lora dear how have you been"
"Good, you...? How's Dad and Lexi"
"Every one is fine dear I haven't told anyone that you are back yet I want to surprise them"
"That's great. Our plan landed a few minutes ago,we are in a hotel now "
"How you had any thing to eat yet? "
"Not yet, but I had some snacks thou . Mrs Sarah left to get something for us to eat"
"Lora! " Rio stormed into the room Lora was in
"What?"
"Where's mum ?"
"She left to get us dinner"
"Why are you with her phone?"
"She gave it to me"
"Lora who's that?" Sophie asked
"Rio, Mrs Sarah's son "
"Okay... What does he want?"
"I don't know. I'll talk to you later Mum " Lora hung up
"What was that for? "Rio asked
"What?"
"Why did you end the call? "
"You wanted the phone take it " Lora gave Rio the phone
"Freak"Rio pushed her hard and took the phone.
Lora fell hitting her on the bed side table and Rio left the room.
AT THE HARPER'S MANSION
Sophie prepared the table for dinner and Lexi watched . Sophie left for the kitchen to get some freshy chopped vegetables.
Sophie returned to the dinning with their meal as Franklin walked in to the dinning.
"How was school today darling ?" Franklin asked Lexi
"Fine... Fine... Ugh..! " Lexi hissed
"Lexi are you alright? " Franklin asked
"Am fine Dad.. " Lexi throw her phone at the wall breaking it.
"Okay, something's wrong. What's going on darling ?"
"It's Ryan " Lexi pulled her hair
"What did he do? "
"Oh Frank you can't be serious " Sophie shook her head in appointment
"What?"
"Nothing.." Sophie shrugged "Go on"
"He said he wouldn't come over this weekend " Lexi began to cry " I don't think he likes me"
"Oh my God" Sophie sighed " you can't be serious "
"I'll talk to his parents"
"Okay... And I need a new phone too"
"I'll buy you a new one tomorrow "Franklin promised
"Wow... Franklin. You watched her break her phone and now you want to get her a new one. "
"So what.. she's my daughter "
"Lora is also your daughter and she doesn't have a phone"
"She has a roof over her head and she attends a very expressive school. She should be grateful ! " Franklin snapped
"I don't know why you hate Lora so much. She has done nothing to you! " Sophie stormed out the room
AT THE HOTEL
Rio was busy going through his mother's contacts hoping to find Bella's modeling agent. He planned on telling the agent to call off one of Bella's contact (for fun).
Sarah phone began to ring and it was Sophie calling. After ignoring her calls a few times he finally answered it.
"What do you want Lora's Mum ?" Rio rudely asked
"I want to talk to Lora"
"She's not here, besides you talked to her less than thirty minutes ago "
"Give Lora the phone please" Sophie begged
" Sophie dear please come down stairs and eat" Franklin's voice was heard in the back ground
"Go down stairs and wait for me Franklin am busy"
"Five minutes, that's all you get" Rio said
"Thank you"
"What ever " Rio throw the door open "Lora your mum wants to talk to you " he glanced around the room and saw Lora still laying on the floor."get up freak"
"Don't talk to my daughter like that"
" Lora!" Rio kicked her leg
Rio's knelt down beside her "wake up" he slapped her cheek
"What's wrong ?"
"She's not responding"
" Lora's wake up please" Rio began to sweat
Sarah entered the room " am back... "
"Mum help me I think she's dead "
"Dead! "Sophie screamed
" I'll call you back Sophie " Sarah hung up " Rio what have you done "
