~Ciel?~
After the war, the city had been meticulously rebuilt, the preparations for Raon Empire's creation and the emperor's coronation in full swing. The streets of the capital buzzed with life, the air rich with the delicious aromas from food stalls, and the citizens were filled with joy and excitement for the impending celebration.
Yet, amidst all the jubilation, a certain redhead had snuck away for a brief nap, attempting to escape the inevitable responsibilities. However, as soon as his eyes fluttered shut, he found himself once again in the oppressive confines of a familiar room-the grim domain of the God of Death.
Cale's gaze darkened with pure venom, a murderous glint in his eyes as he stood before the deity. The God of Death, both amused and nervous under the intensity of Cale's glare, took a deep breath and began, "My child, I-"
Before he could utter another word, Cale cut him off with scathing disrespect, his voice dripping with cold fury. "What? You want me to burn down every last one of your temples and tear up all your precious books? Because if that's what you're aiming for, I'll gladly oblige."
His tone was sharp, savage, and filled with seething frustration, his words a threat he would not hesitate to follow through on.
The God of Death squirmed uncomfortably in his place, visibly nervous. "It's... well, you see, after the incident with the dagger... um-"
Cale raised a brow, his expression one of pure exasperation. "Oh, spare me the drama. Don't tell me there's some absurd, overdone plot twist like, 'Oh no, you're dying!' or 'Your soul is shattering because it's too much to handle,'" Cale drawled, his voice laced with biting sarcasm. "What's next, some cliché about me being overwhelmed by fate? Honestly, bastard, get a better script."
His words were sharp, dripping with mockery, as if the God of Death's discomfort was nothing more than an inconvenience to him. Cale's patience, clearly, had run thin.
The God of Death began to sweat profusely, clearly uncomfortable under Cale's withering stare. Meanwhile, beneath Cale's stoic mask, a quiet panic began to rise. 'Don't tell me... no, no, no... this can't be happening...' he thought, his mind racing despite the calm façade he maintained.
The God of Death glanced nervously forward, hesitating before speaking. "Well, it's not quite-"
Cale narrowed his eyes, his tone dripping with icy sarcasm. "Oh, for the love of-don't even try it. If you're about to spin some ridiculous plot about my soul unraveling or fate catching up to me, save it. Do you think I have the patience for another tragic twist? Spoiler alert: I don't." He crossed his arms, his words sharp and laced with savage wit. "And for your sake, you better have something more original than the usual 'doom and gloom.' I'm one temple fire away from making that your new reality."
The God of Death swallowed hard, visibly wilting under Cale's relentless mockery.
The God of Death's voice took on a pleading tone. "My child... please, listen. It's really about your soul... and, well, the other worlds too..."
Cale scrunched his nose in utter disgust. "Nope. Count me out. Keep your worlds and your messes away from me, you bastard."
The God of Death's eyes grew desperate, silently pleading with Cale to understand. "Cale... my child, please. Your soul has been... overwhelmed by the constant back-and-forth between the God of Despair's temple trials and this world. Even though we've sealed the God of Despair, his influence... his despair, it still lingers in this world. If you remain here any longer, your soul... it will cease to exist, consumed by the strain."
Cale groaned internally, biting back the urge to scream at the heavens. 'Just what I needed... haaa... another world-ending crisis, my soul on the verge of breaking, and I still can't catch a damn break.'
