San squinted at his phone in the dim glow of his apartment. His thumb swiped idly through Instagram stories as he sprawled out on his couch, his head swimming from the cocktails he'd had with friends earlier. Yunho's story popped up next—his friend from college, always posting about his wild nights out. This time, it was a group shot, everyone grinning and throwing peace signs. But one guy stood out.
@YoungnFree
San didn't recognize him, but something about the guy made San stop scrolling. Dark hair, a sharp jawline, and piercing eyes that stared straight into the camera. This guy was effortlessly cool in a way that seemed unattainable, and downright gorgeous. He had the kind of smile that was both inviting and mischievous, like he knew something you didn't.
Why am I staring at this dude?
San tapped through the rest of Yunho's story, the faces blurring into one another, but the handsome man's face stood out, lingering in his mind. Without thinking, San clicked on the tag under his name and opened his profile. @YoungnFree.
His Instagram page was a curated collection of sharp outfits, scenic adventures, and casual smirks. The guy clearly lived life well, and every photo seemed like it had been taken at golden hour, perfectly lit and effortlessly framed.
San scrolled deeper. Each new photo tugged at something inside him. Maybe it was the booze, or maybe it was the fact that San hadn't exactly been living his best dating life lately. Either way, this guy had San's attention. San truly wondered how any human could be this attractive. Was he real?
San blinked at the screen, a lazy grin spreading across his face.
What's the harm? he thought. Yunho was friends with the guy, so they had some kind of connection, right?
Before he could stop himself, San clicked the DM button. His fingers hovered over the keyboard for a second, but then, with that blissful lack of inhibition that came after one too many drinks, he typed to @YoungnFree:
Hey, you're hot.
He hit send.
It was done. A small rush of adrenaline surged through him, but his head was too fuzzy to fully process it. Instead of worrying, he tossed his phone to the side and let the warm haze of sleep pull him under.

The next morning hit San like a truck.
His head pounded, and he groaned, rolling over and blindly reaching for his phone. Sunlight streamed in through his blinds, making him wince. God, why did I have that last drink? His mouth was dry, his limbs heavy as he fumbled to unlock his phone.
Notifications buzzed across the screen, but one notification stood out, sending a jolt of panic through his hazy brain.
Instagram.
Suddenly, the fog cleared just enough for him to remember.
Oh no...
San's eyes shot open, and he scrambled to open the app, heart thudding in his chest. His fingers trembled as he scrolled through his messages. Please no, please no...
And then he saw it.
Hey, you're hot.
His stomach twisted in horror. What the hell was I thinking? He nearly dropped the phone. The thought of that incredibly hot man reading that—Yunho's friend, of all people—made his skin prickle with embarrassment. Images of him telling Yunho about his pathetic drunk DM filled his mind, followed by the inevitable roasting in the group chat.
But then something stopped him in his tracks.
@ YoungnFree had responded.
San's breath caught as he clicked the chat. His heart pounded in his ears as his reply appeared on the screen.
@ YoungnFree: Well, well, wasn't expecting that. But I'll take the compliment 😁 What took you so long, Choi San?
San blinked. His pulse quickened as he re-read it.
@ YoungnFree: Also, I'd say you're pretty easy on the eyes yourself. Just saying. 😏
San stared at the screen, his heart racing for a whole new reason. Wait, what? He scrolled up, looking for some sign that he was messing with San. There had to be a catch. Maybe a screenshot was already circulating. But no—this was real. The handsome man hadn't blocked him, hadn't humiliated him. He'd... flirted back?
San's lips curled into a grin, disbelief and excitement flooding his system. His fingers hovered over the keyboard, nerves buzzing as he tried to think of something—anything—smooth to say. Finally, after a few failed attempts, he typed:
San: Uh, sorry about the DM. Tequila got the better of me.
@ YoungnFree: No need to apologize. I'm a fan of tequila-fueled honesty 😉 Does it usually take that much liquid courage for you to slide into someone's DMs, or was I just special?
San flushed, a surprised laugh bubbling up. Was this guy actually teasing him?
San: Guess you're special, then. So, uh, what's your name?
@ YoungnFree: Jung Wooyoung. Though I was tempted to make you guess. You should know by now—I've hung around Yunho enough.
San's eyes widened. Of course, he knew. His fingers flew across the screen.
San: Yeah, I've seen you in a couple of his pics. Didn't think I'd be DM'ing you, though.
Wooyoung: You've been holding out on me then, huh? Thought I'd made a good impression.
San couldn't help but laugh, his nerves easing as Wooyoung's playful tone put him at ease.
San: You could say that.
Wooyoung: We should grab drinks sometime. Maybe you can show me in person how you and tequila get along. 😁
San's heart skipped a beat. Was this really happening? He hesitated, then smiled, biting his lip as he typed.
San: You sure you can handle me and tequila?
Wooyoung: Oh, I'm pretty sure. Let's test that theory—Friday, maybe?
San: Friday works, after 7?
Wooyoung: Perfect. I'll be waiting, San. Don't make me wait too long this time.
San locked his phone, tossing it onto the bed as he flopped back, staring at the ceiling, heart still racing.
One drunk DM had somehow turned into a date.
Well, this is going to be interesting.

Another storyline that's been rent free in my head. I hope you enjoy.
Sporadic dyslexic updates likely.
