Short little update for you! Sorry it took so long! Next one is a loooooot longer!!

JANUARY 2007
Sophie's POV

"This can't be happening," I breathed out, staring at the tiny little stick in my hand. "This can't be real. This has got to be a dream," I said a little louder and more forcefully, throwing the little plastic stick into the sink in front of me.

"Sophie! What happened?" I heard Hannah ask from outside the bathroom. I swung the door open and stared at her for a few seconds before she spoke again. "Soph, what did it say?" She whispered.

Wiping the slowly increasing tears off my eyes, I whimpered, "I'm... I'm..." I trailed off, breathing heavily. I walked quickly over to Hannah's bed and sat on the edge. "I'm pregnant." I finally got out.

Hannah let a large breath escape through her mouth slowly. It sounded like she had been holding that one in for a while. But then again, from the very moment that I had missed my period, noticed how sick I was getting every morning, and felt how tender my breasts were, I'd been holding my breath too.

My best friend sat down next to be and started rubbing my back and the arm closest to her in an attempt to calm me down. I wasn't going to calm down. There was no way to calm down after the news I'd just received. I started crying more heavily. "What am I going to do? What am I going to do, Hannah?" I screeched. She tried to shush me and rub my back to calm me down, but it still wasn't working. "I have no money! No house! No parents! And the father isn't I the picture..." I said, horrified by my future, laughing spitefully.

"So it is... You know?" She said, confirming who the father was. I had already made it clear to her I never wanted to hear his name again.

"Yes. It's him. Unlike him, I was actually faithful." I spat out.

"Ok. Sophie," she said calmly, drying my eyes with the end of the sleeve of her shirt. "Shh... Let's not cry. Let's make a plan." she said defiantly. She always was more headstrong than I was. I swallowed and looked up at her. I desperately needed some guidance and I was grateful that my best friend still accepted me, even if I had been abandoned by everyone else. "You definitely want to keep... Uh.. It. Right?" Hannah asked.

"Definitely." I said, swallowing and nodding my head. "I could use someone to love me," I added jokingly, laughing lightly. It sounded like a joke, so it was scary how much truth it really held.

She scrunched her mouth to the side and tilted her head with a look of pity, before shaking her head and continuing with the plan. "You can't think like that. You're a mother now. You have to think positively, for you and your little one." She widened her eyes as if asking me if I understood.

"Why do you sound like you have experience in this area?" I asked her.

"My mother." She breathed out. "Had me when she was seventeen." She finished. "She only married my stepdad when I was six. I knew you at the time, we were just too young to realize what was going on." She swallowed. "It's ok. I'm fine, and me and my mom and happy and healthy. Everything can work out for you too, you just gotta have a little faith." she reassured my, rubbing my arm.

"So. Do you have a job? Any source of income? What about your writing?" She asked hopefully.

"I won't make any money off of my writing. I'd have to be more dedicated than I will be able to be if I'm pregnant with no money. And I have a job, but it doesn't pay much and I won't be able to keep it once I have... well... It and I have to take care of it."

"Ok. Plan B." Hannah said, biting her lip in thought. Her eyes roamed all around before settling on my face. Her eyes darted back and forth and then lit up with an idea. "Your earrings." She murmured.

"What?" I said in clarification. I couldn't believe she just said what she had said.

"Your earrings." she stated more loudly this time. "You could sell them. They would get you at least enough for a small apartment, your doctor's appointment, new clothes for when you explode." she explained, her eyes moving to glance at my still-flat stomach on that last part.

I signed and thought to myself. These earrings? Would I do that? I felt like they were the last piece of him that was still mine. My connection to him. I'd promised him to wear them forever. Oh well. He'd promised me forever, way back when. But this baby - it was my new forever.

Cristiano's POV

"Babe, let's go to the club." Nereida whined in my ear as she crawled up from the foot of the bed to bring her face really close to mine. I was lying, completely outstretched, on my bed, eyes closed and the back of my hand resting over my eyes. I had had the most stressful day, ad right now I just needed someone to talk to, not someone to have sex with or go party with. Someone like - her. Oh well. Get her out of your head, Cristiano! She's gone. And after the way you treated her, there is no way she's coming back.

A/N: as you can see, Cristiano's regretting letting Sophie go. That will only intensify as time goes on...
Sorry for this extremely short chapter. No worries though, longer ones to come!
