Catch Me If You Can

Part 1

Mia and Lee had been running for 3 hours and were exhausted.
Pinocchio had suggested that they split up into pairs early on.
"We can't all keep up with each other," he explained. "Mia and Lee, take the woods-" and so on.
Mia and Lee both were a little nervous of the woods.
While they were running farther and farther away from Duloc, Lee told Mia a true story to keep their minds off the woods.
She told Mia of the time she met snooty Amber and Velma, apparently also known as 'Miss Baltimore Crabs' or something like that.
They really, really did not like the way Lee looked.
"Well," Lee said jokingly," I hope we don't run into them, haha!"
"Yeah, gee," Mia said," I wonder what they would think of-"
"Mother!!" they could hear a snooty voice close to them," Don't get your hair tangled in that branch over there!"
"Wait," Lee said, turning white,"That can't be-"
"Amber!!" another voice rang out, closer to them then before,"I am always careful!"
"Mia, get down," Lee whispered.
Two blondes came into view.
"Is that them?" Mia asked, speaking too loudly.
Lee shushed her, but it was too late.
Amber and Velma looked around.
"Who was that? Velma asked accusingly.
Amber could see a brown feather peeking out of the bush.
She went over to investigate and saw them.
"EW! MOTHER GET OVER HERE!" Amber screamed.
"What-" Velma saw them.
"CALL THE POLICE! CALL ANIMAL CONTROL!! CALL-"
"There's no need to scream, Amber!" Lee said firmly.
"Wait a second, is that-" Velma couldn't finish the sentence.
Yep! Don't you remember me?" Lee asked.
"Ugh, you grew up uglier then we imagined,"Velma said,"And what's that thing beside you?"
"That's Mia,"Lee said,"And she's not a thing,"Lee finished, and was relieved to see Mia smiling.
