~5 years later~
One of the Dora Milaje swung their spear at Layla's head. She ducked and swiped their feet, causing them to fall. Memories of her and Okoye doing these same moves came to Layla's head. She pushed them away and focused on the fight. Another Dora used their spear to choke Layla. Layla grabbed the spear and pulled the Dora off her back sending them flying forward. Layla twirled the spear in her hands and stalked over to the warrior lying on her back. Layla pointed the spear at her heart and smirked.
"Okay, I yield," Ayo said. Layla smiled at her friend and pulled her to her feet.
"I told you I'm getting better," Layla stated as they walked through the training area.
"I mean it has been five years, so I would hope so," Ayo replied grabbing her spear from Layla's hands. Ayo continued, "How are all of your friends?"
"I haven't been in contact with any of them so I wouldn't know," Layla sat down on the ground, "The Avengers kinda disbanded. With everything that happened." Ayo nodded at her.
Layla smiled at her. She had come to Wakanda and lived here for the past three years. After, Thor killed Thanos, she gave up on trying to find a way to fix everything. She excepted the fact that they weren't coming back. Her only friend in Wakanda is Ayo. Okoye and Shuri disappeared. She was alone in some ways.
Layla walked into her small hut the Wakandans made for her. She grabbed a bottle of water and sat on her bed. She layed down on her back and looked at the ceiling.
Thanos should've taken me.
Steve watched as Tony drove very quickly over to him and stopped. They were outside of the Avengers compound. The Avengers had tried many ways to go back in time and fix everything. Tony got out of the car and looked at Steve.
"He turned into a baby, didn't he?" Tony asked, smirking. Steve frowned at him.
"Among other things. What are you doing here?" Steve asked.
"I did it," Tony stated, holding up a watch-looking device, "A fully functioning time-space GPS. I just want peace. Turns out, resentment is corrosive, and I hate it." Tony reached into the trunk and pulled out Steve's shield.
"Me too," Steve said.
"Any idea where Red is?" Tony asked, handing Steve his shield.
"Layla is in Wakanda," Steve replied, "Why?"
Tony smirked and walked into the compound.
Layla grabbed a spear and lunged at Ayo. They fought spear-to-spear. The sound of clashing vibranium hurt Layla's ears. Ayo kicked Layla to the ground and pointed the spear at her heart. Ayo raised her eyebrow and looked down at Layla. Layla rolled her eyes.
"Okay, fine," she complained, "I yield."
Ayo let out a breathy laugh and pulled Layla to her feet. Layla brushed the dirt off her clothes and frowned at Ayo. Layla picked up her spear and gave it to Ayo.
"Wanna go get some food?" Ayo asked.
"Nah, I'll stay out here," Layla smiled and Ayo walked off. Layla looked down and sighed, "You know, you're very bad at hiding."
Steve walked out of the shadows and smiled at her. She rolled her eyes and throw a dagger at a target.
"Your accent seems stronger than it used to be," Steve points out. She frowns at him. "Okay, yeah, I should probably explain why I'm here."
