"A wah dissss, envelope"

"Mi son in-law send money inna envelope"

"Lawdd jezas tank yuh, big him up fimi deh" my mother exclaimed, counting the money she putted some in her pocket, the rest in the envelope she shoved under her mattress.

"Mi daughter yuh look good" she turned her attention to me.

I arrived couple minutes ago we're currently in her room on her bed.

Even though the area is small she always kept it clean. Growing up I always wonder why she got up everyday and clean the place. Eventually I got used to it especially when she said I'm old enough to start clean too.

"Uh mi get eh from"

"Can seet pan yuh seh uh comfortable, yuh love how him a treat yuh don't?"

"Yes " I smiled saying.

"Hold on pan dah one yah good mi gyal, uno start think bout pickney?" She questioned.

"If a dat yuh tell yuh self fi help yuh conscience well fine" she raised her hand as of surrendering.

"Mi hungry enuh wah bout you?" I changed the topic.

"Yes mi girl, I deh yah feel fi a box food yah now, breakfast wear out " she patted her bonnet then rubbed her stomach saying.

"Papa Ru cookshop open today?"

"Everyday all Sunday"

"Mek we go roun deh , feel fi di sweet barbecue chicken sitn" I said standing up.

"Come on, mek mi drive"

"Aa crash wah?" I asked looking over my shoulder at her as we go through the door.

"Mi can drive bout!" she closed the door saying.

"Weh yuh tan from an learn fi drive?"

"Yuh ting a likkle bit a car man mi know inna my lifetime?" She asked.

"Yuh tell mi"

"First one a back inna my young days, Barrington was the first man have a car inna di community,.......and yuh know I was the cristess ting back den so him, I and the car go along very good" she hopped in the passenger side saying.

"Bwoy mummy"

As I pulled off she continues...

"But a never him teach mi fi drive, is a next car man....., Richard Levy him did own a Cadillac " she leaned over to me saying.

"Can ask yuh sumn mummy"

"Ehhe " she said giving me the go ahead.

"So much rich man only fi mi daddy did be di poorest ting bout eh place"

"When love strike, love strike, may him soul rest in peace" she says looking out the window.

"Blasted look pan dat deh one who usto hype pan yuh" She said pointing through the window showing me the girl with a big belly.

Teesha. We use to be friends until high school she changed. We all have friends that we were close with in primary but by high school they find new friends and outgrow you. That person can even be you.

She didn't look so well, yes she was pregnant but there was an unhealthy look to it. Maybe that how some people go through it.

"Har madda a seh a di same bwoy weh a beat har up from school days breed har"

Damn it.

"Dat rough " I said making a turn out on the busier road.

"Dat mek dem stuck fi life until one a dem dead, God forbid" she said. " Dat why uh fi breed fi dis yah good man.....stuck fi life"

"Pickney naa wul man again"

" Dat deh nice body, pretty face and good pussy still cyaa dweet, wul heap more a dat out deh"

Sometimes I wonder if she see or know the pressure she puts on me about this.

"Him ago always come back to him baby, and the mada"

"Den how mi neva know my fada till yuh carry mi go look inna casket not even dead lef nutn" i said with that she went silent.

Pulling up to the cookshop I look for a space on the roadside to park. There were small table and chairs at the front so we would be here for a while.

We're going to eat and talk more, even if she pisses me off here and there we have to spend time so well get over whatever.

We did so, after we went grocery shopping. We saw few clothes that looked good by the road side and couldn't pass them.

"Dah one yah woulda look good pan yuh " I told her holding up a dress to her body. "Fi real man, like a you it mek fah big ooman" the man selling them says eyeing my mother.

Alright big people.

We both few thing from him the made our way back to the car. It was sundown by the time we reach back to her house and nightfall when I reached my house.

Corey's Pov

"Mr Walsh, we've been notified that three new shipments has arrived including the furnitures for the pending property" Telma walked in my office saying while still looking down on the iPad typing away.

Telma is my assistant, she's always been, ever since I became an entrepreneur.

There's never a issue with how she works with me, always onetime, stays busy and tidy.

That's all I know, I never tried to know anything personal, not even know if she has a child of a family, nothing.

Is it a bad look? No. I think there no need to get personal with work but if there's a personal matter I can't stop a person.

"Thanks Telma, did you reach out to the financer yesterday as i asked?"

"Yes sir, that what I'm looking at now, he's arranged a meeting with you tomorrow at 12" she finally looked up through her glasses.

"Okay, you can close up yah now, mi ago drive the truck out front" I gathered my thing walking out to my car putting them inside then closing it.

I do my own shipment pickups. The truck was provided by a close friend who owns a moving truck business.

Going in the truck I drove it through the gate going back out.

Telma was closing the doors.

"Somebody a come pick yuh up?" I question.

I don't want to be the boss who leave my assistant alone out in the night.

"No, let mi come with yuh"

" Yuh naave nobody fi go home to? Child, husband?" I questioned as we walk back to the truck.

"Nope wah bout you, bossman?" She fixed her glasses on her face saying.

" Yes as a matter of fact mek mi text har seh mi ago late"

I said taking out my phone send Lisa a text.

We separated to different side of the truck entering.

"Who's the lucky lady?" She asked with a genuine smile.

"She name Lisa, one year and add it a go"

"Aww, mi soon hear bout the likkle ones den" she joked.

"When yuh hear, yuh hear" I laugh pulling off.

To wharf we go...........
