-3rd POV-

"General, I've received a report! Castle Wildrose...Castle Wildrose has been besieged by Henrick and a group of Silver Owls led by the Dawn Knight!" Baur said.

"What...?!" Silver and Sebek's eyes widen along with the rest.

Lilia's eyes widen, "We have to get back to Castle Wildrose...Grk..." He winced.

The silver haired male held him up, "You're in no shape to move!"

"Mrah...Just lookin' at you makes me wanna pass out vicarious-like..." Grim cried.

"Shut up! Injures are the least of my concerns! This fortress is probably surrounded as well. Get me a telemancer. Send all of us to Castle Wildrose immediately..." The general fae said.

"General, I agree that would be the quickest way to get us back there...But that's a very long distance to travel. Teleportation magic works by converting the body—and mind, by extension—to aether, then reconstituting them at the destination. Such a process puts considerable strain on the sick and wounded. Not even you could withstand a long-range teleport in your state, sir. I suggest we have the telemancers send off everyone still fit to fight, and we will make our way back on foot." Baur suggested.

"You fool! Do you think we have time for that?! The Dawn Knight is among the Silver Owls besieging the castle!"

"You make my case for me, sir! Galling as it is to admit, the Dawn Knight is a formidable foe. You can hardly even swing your magearm right now. Were you to face him in this state, you would be as helpless as a toothless beast. A fact which is surely not lost upon you."

"Rgh..."

"Let us have faith in the royal guardsmen you've trained, as well as Lady Maleanor. They'll hold out until we arrive."

"...Confound it all. Fine."

Baur turned to the rest, "All forces, retreat! Combat medics, tend to our wounded! Telemancers, send everyone still standing to Castle Wildrose! At once! The general and I will return on foot!"

The other fae men spoke in their language.

"I leave Castle Wildrose and Lady Maleanor in your hands."

They spoke again.

"Night's blessings."

The men spoke again, then teleported.

"Rgh...They must have been waiting to act until the general was absent from the castle. Cowardly humans!"

Silver and Sebek were silent.

"Mrr...(Y/n), what do we do here?" The feline pawed at the girl, who held him.

The said girl's eyes were in a dilemma, not knowing what to say, 'I know it's a dream, but still...' She thought.

Silver's eyes widen, before raising his hands and slapping either side of his face, "...All right!"

The tanuki instantly turned to him, "Whoa! What's with you, Silver? Why're you smackin' your own cheeks?"

"Standing around moping won't make this situation any better. We need to think of what we can do to help."

Sebek slowly nodded, "...You're not wrong. When we were training in the mountains, it was all too common to find our way blocked by mudslides or fallen trees. You can't just stand around feeling helpless, though. Doing so wastes valuable daylight and risks dragging you into subsequent disasters. The faster you make your decision—be it turning back or finding a detour—the more your odds of survival improve."
