"Awwww, he's such a cute little guy. He has your serious face, Sinding." Farkas said, as we sat in Jorrvasker with the members of the Companions.
I laugh while holding Aaiden in my arms, his little face serious as he stares up at me. I look at my husband and smile. "He does have your frown."
Sinding chuckles and puts on arm over my shoulder. Lucia sits on his lap lap when he says. "He's alot handsomer than me."
I look at him and wink. "You are awfully handsome."
"Yeah, Papa, you are very handsome." Lucia said, crossing her little arms.
"Don't blow up his head too much." Aela says, leaning over my shoulder. She smiles when she sees Aaiden's eyes study her, his face taking in his surroundings. "He has your ears, Tanii." She says, a grin on her face.
"Not as pointy as mine," I say, "Partially due to his father being full Nordic and me only being half Breton."
"That other half of Mer though shows through. Gives him a very unique look. He will be a handsome man." Aela says.
"I love his little ears. They look like Mama's and Uncle Arodil's." Lucia said. "And Papa always talks about how much he loves Mama's pointy ears. I hear him talk about that late at night sometimes."
I blush as Sinding gives her a gentle shush, followed by a chuckle.
"The Aedra have definitely blessed you and our Family here at Jorrvasker." Vilkas said, "I can see him being one of us one day, like his parents."
"It will be a long time before that happens, if it does." I say, "But we don't have to talk about that now."
"Kodlak would be proud....he would be proud of both you." Farkas says, ruffling up my hair.
"You both have come a long way." Vilkas adds. "I remember when you were a little whelp when you and your mother first came here, and the only experience you had was serving a Jarl as a kitchen girl."
"And you, Sinding, were a broken man taunted by guilt, a refugee of the law." Aela says, "But even Kodlak had told Skjor and I, that your paths would cross and you both would become more together."
Aaiden yawns and makes a little squeak. "Aww." Lucia says. I take Sinding's hand and smile at him. "And I have a feeling that we will become even stronger as a family." I say.
Sinding nods.
"So what will the Dragonborn do now that she has not one, but two children and a family to take care of?" Vilkas says, leaning against the wall.
I smile, "I plan to help around the town as Thane of Whiterun, do some court duty. Even if I have to help be an emissary to help in the war, but other than that, I don't want to have to do any adventuring any time soon."
Sinding squeezes my hand. "I think neither of us do."
As far as we were concerned, our adventuring was at a standstill. If we were needed in the war, we would help, but for now. Our children needed us. Serana and Arodil needed us. I needed Sinding and he needed me. Life was simple, and that was good.
