Taylor Swift has seen love. She sees other people experience it, she has experienced it herself.

Nothing really compares to when she sees her daughter's eyes light up when Sabrina Carpenter walks into the room. She didn't expect it, but it stares her plane in the face when Sabrina's face instantly changes from a bored expression to genuine happiness.

The sparkle in her eye returns, and she runs to sit next to Jaime, basically sitting on her lap.

Jaime wraps her arms around her waist, smiling up at her.

Taylor feels like she's intruding on something, so she excuses herself to the bathroom.

Where she proceeds to fangirl over it for the next five minutes.

Her daughter. Sabrina Carpenter. Jaime Swift, Sabrina Carpenter. When Taylor said Sabrina was like her daughter, she didn't realise she actually could be.

Wait, she's getting ahead of herself.

They might not be dating. They could just be in a severe homoerotic friendship.

That might be it, actually.

If they were dating, they'd hide it better. They'd not cuddle in front of her, they would hide their facial expressions, they wouldn't flirt with company around.

No, they're in love. Just not aware of it.

Sabrina would make a good daughter. Jaime deserves only the best, after all.

Taylor remembers once, when she was in love. Not with who you'd think, she was a model, actually. She still regrets never making a move.

She just hopes Jaime is brave enough to do what she couldn't.

---

"Mom, we're gonna go to the beach!" Jaime calls out, waiting to hear a "have fun!" From upstairs, before her and Sabrina walk out the door.

"So, what's good, Carpenter?" Jaime asks, opening her door for her.

"Could say the same to you, Jaimes," Sabrina rolls her eyes, laughing.

"My bad, my bad. Anything exciting happen?"

"Got to see you," Sabrina immediately flushes after saying that.

"That must be quite an exhilarating experience, I agree!" Jaime says simply, not even hiding her blush.

When Jaime's car pulls up at the beach, they sit in the car for a minute before they both turn to each other.

"So, is this like-" Sabrina begins, only to be cut off by Jaime.

"Can I kiss you?"

Sabrina freezes. She's been waiting to hear that since the dawn of time, pretty much. She unbuckles her seat belt, and Jaime's eyes flash with confusion for a second, before she leans over, unbuckling Jaime's seatbelt while simultaneously grabbing to back of her neck to pull her in.

Jaime immediately returns the kiss, while it's chaste and only lasts a couple seconds. Jaime pulls back for a second, looking at Sabrina with wide eyes.

Then she pulls Sabrina in again, this time it's entirely different. Sabrina leans against her, and Jaime's mouth parts to let her tongue swipe her bottom lip. Sabrina's hands rest on the back of her neck, her acrylic nails tangled in her hair. Jaime's arms find her waist, pulling her closer, so she's pressed against her.

Sabrina slips her tongue in her mouth, taking control. Jaime is definitely not complaining, digging her nails into her sides.

They break apart, breathing heavily.

"Did you mean that?" Jaime asks, vulnerability in her eyes.

"I meant that. A lot," Sabrina takes a breath. "I like you, a lot."

"Oh." Jaime pauses. "I like you a lot too."

They both grin, looking probably goofy as fuck but it's fine because they just kissed.

"Come with me," Sabrina opens her door for her this time, and they walk down to the waves.

Sabrina takes her hand, turning to look at her.

"Jaime Anne Smith," she begins. "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Jaime smiles, wider than she'd ever seen her smile. "Fuck yes."

---

When Taylor Swift thinks of love, she thinks of daylight.

When Jaime Swift thinks of love, she thinks of freedom.

When Sabrina Carpenter thinks of love, she thinks of devotion.

How do these traits combine?

Can Jaime and Sabrina make it in the music industry, fool the media and maintain all of these traits?

Will Taylor catch on that they finally got together, after months of mutual pining, or will she assume that it's a never ending cycle?

What if they got caught by the wrong people?

What if, after all these years of betrayal, the person who caused Sabrina the most trouble, walks back into her life?

Will Sabrina be comfortable coming out?

Will Jaime make it out of the cycle of stress and anxiety, or will she succumb to her budding depression?
