"Do you still have feelings for him?" he asked, trying to mask the urgency in his voice.
Nut raised an eyebrow, his smirk widening. "We've been together before. You know, before he got all starry-eyed over you."
Pon felt the floor drop beneath him. "Are you still...?" he started, but Nut cut him off with a dismissive wave.
"Relax, I'm not here to swoop in and steal him back. Just don't think it's all sunshine and rainbows between you two. Sailub has a history, and you're not the first pretty face he's latched onto."
Pon swallowed hard, feeling a mix of anger and confusion.
Nut let out a mocking laugh. " Oh, Pon, sweetie, we were together. I know him better than you ever could. What you're experiencing now? It's nothing new. I've had that. I've been there. And I know every button to push."
Pon's heart dropped, his hands shaking slightly. "Are you saying you two are still...?"
Nut tilted his head, his smirk widening like a predator toying with prey. "I'm saying that Sailub and I have history. A deep history. One that's not so easy to erase. So don't get too comfortable thinking you've got him all to yourself."
Pon's mind raced, his thoughts spiraling. "Are you trying to threaten me, Nut?"
Nut leaned forward, his eyes gleaming with malice. "It's not a threat, Pon. It's a fact. Sailub is complicated. He doesn't need some wide-eyed omega thinking everything is just magically going to work out. You might have his attention now, but I know what Sailub's like when things get tough. He leans on me, not you."
Pon clenched his fists under the table, his blood boiling, but Nut wasn't done.
"You're new to this game. I've been by his side long before you were even a thought in his head. And when things go south—because they will—he'll come back to me. He always does." Nut's tone was laced with confidence, a clear challenge hanging in the air.
Pon's heart was pounding in his chest, anger and hurt swirling inside him. "I don't believe that."
Nut smirked again, standing up slowly, looking down at Pon with an almost pitying expression. "You don't have to. But remember this: Sailub and I have something you can't touch. When push comes to shove, he knows where home is. And it's not with you."
As Nut turned to leave, Pon felt a cold wave of doubt crash over him. Everything Nut said stung, every word designed to make him question everything he thought he knew about Sailub. The cruel, mocking smile Nut wore stayed in Pon's mind, twisting his gut.
Pon sat there for a moment, his mind reeling. He didn't know what to believe anymore, but one thing was clear—Nut was playing dirty, and Pon wasn't sure if he was ready for the fight ahead
Pon sat quietly in his condo, watching Sailub move around the kitchen with ease as the alpha prepared dinner. Sailub had insisted on cooking tonight, and when Pon had arrived home, he was shocked to find the alpha already there, greeting him with a warm hug and a soft kiss on the cheek. Now, as Pon sat there, staring at Sailub's broad back, he couldn't shake the weight of Nut's cruel words from earlier. His chest tightened at the thought of what Nut had said — that Sailub and Nut shared a history too deep to break, that when things went wrong, Sailub would always return to Nut. It terrified Pon to even consider it. He didn't want to believe any of it, but the doubt was creeping in, lingering at the edges of his mind. He couldn't bring himself to confront Sailub about it, not yet, not when everything between them felt so perfect.
Nut had been cruel, planting seeds of doubt that threatened to tear apart everything Pon had been building with Sailub. But as he watched the alpha now, so at ease, humming a soft tune while chopping vegetables, Pon knew he couldn't let Nut's bitter words ruin what they had.
