Shu's eyes fluttered open

Shu's eyes fluttered open. He rubbed his eyes as the sunlight rushed in through the window right into his eyes. She groaned slightly as she gently raised his head from the pillow to look around the room before sitting up, the sheets shifting slightly to reveal his abdomen.

His neck was covered with a bit of hickeys, so was his back, a few bite marks lurked in between those hickeys. They were not going to disappear anytime soon. But oh boy how he loved to be claimed as hers right now. He looked down at himself before tying his long hairs back.

"Awake already? I see." Her voice echoed from the corner of the room, from the dark corner of the room, with her sitting on a chair. "Well, good morning, my dearest." Her eyes glowed through that darkness. That same coldness and menacing look on her face, similar to the one she had on the battlefield.

But the question in his mind was... after confessing to him last night why was she acting so cold to him. Shu innocently tilted his head slightly with a confused face but his guard was on again as soon as he saw that look on her face.

"Good morning?.." he got up from the bed and picked up his shirt from the side table and slid that on. Then he turned back to face her and took a few steps towards her before he paused. She stood up from the chair, her hand gently caressing the hand rest.

"Do you know..." shu's eyes perked up. "The one i despise the most in this whole world... is betrayal." She turned her gaze back at him. "Have you ever gotten betrayed?" She asked him.

Shu looked a bit stunned and confused at her sudden questioning. Then he shook his head in a no. She just huffed at his expression, "But i have... that too by the person i trusted the most in my whole life. Ironic enough, the one i trusted with my life." She ran a hand through her hair and looked up at the ceiling before looking back at him.

The expressions on her face were unrecognisable, the one no one had seen before. She looked genuinely hurt. That woman, the duchess of glacera. She looked hurt. Never in her whole life she made such expressions, not even once, yet she was showing such vulnerable sight to him.

"I trusted you... shu yamino..." she picked up some letters from the table. "I trusted you over my life.." her voice was barely above a whisper but enough for him to hear. Shu's eyes widened when he recognised those letters. Those were from his friends. None other than the one she was awaiting her whole life to kill.

The crown prince. Vox akuma. Not only him but the heir of emberblaze duchy, Mysta rias, and the most powerful merchant guild leader, Luca kaneshiro. And lastly the one which shook her the most.. Ike eveland... her own right hand man... her own childhood friend.

She threw those letters at his feet. "Even Ike's betrayal didn't hurt as much as the fact that you backstabbed me.." her face twisted in an oddly humane expressions for someone like her. She had tears in her eyes that she desperately tried to hold back. The duchess of glacera of was crying.

She grabbed his shoulder. "Tell me... tell me did you and the others had fun deceiving me and looking at my pitiful state?... tell me did you had fun watching me foolishly trust you without any second thoughts?... tell me! Tell me if it was worth it?!" Shu was too stunned to answer anything. His eyes getting filled with tears at the fact he made her cry.

He could feel the air around them starting to freeze up, her knuckles turning white and her fingertips turning a light shade of purple. "Tell me... Did you sleep well every night knowing that you were deceiving me?... did you felt disgusted when i kissed you... are you feeling pitiful seeing me in this ridiculous snd vulnerable state in front of your eyes!!" She shook him before stepping back and running a hand through her hair.

"Please... please let me explai-!" His voice was shaky as he tried to explain himself but she immediately cut him off. "What is there left to explain now... what is there to explain?!" She chuckled as the tears finally rolled down her face. Shu cupped his face as his own tears fell down on her cheeks.

"I trusted you... i fucking trusted you!" She sobbed placing her own hands over his. She couldn't take all the overwhelming emotions dwelling inside her for all these years. "I don't even know why i am even letting you see me in this petty state..." she wiped her tears away with one hand.

"I don't even know why i am even letting you live right now!!" She grabbed his throat. Her powers were all over the place. Her lips were starting to turn purple and her temperature was dropping drastically.

"Please... darling... please calm down..." he choked in between and then coughed. "You condition will get wor-" he coughed. "I don't care!!!" She let go of his throat. "What will even happen if it gets worse... tell me! The worst can be death! Then let it be." She glared at him before turning her head away. "Even death will be sweeter than the betrayal of the man i once loved." Those words stung more painfully than it should've.

"Please... please let me explain.." he tried to caress her cheek and get her to look at him. "Don't... you don't have to..." she did not even spare him a glance. "You know what.." she finally turned her head to him. "I free you... get out now." She pointed at the door. "The divorce papers will arrive shortly at your place. Get out before i do something that i will regret for the rest of my life..." she closed her eyes. She couldn't let even another tear drop from her eyes or else it will freeze right there.

"Darling plea-!"

"Out!!!"

Her hands were shaking slightly, no one could tell if it was from rage or cold. Shu looked at her one last time before disappearing in thin air.

After a long silence, She slowly opened her eyes and stared at the blank spot where he was standing before. Then she walked to the bed side where he was sleeping before and sat down near the pillow. She stared at it blankly for a good minute before reaching out her trembling hand to caress the slight warmth he left behind before it faded away to a bitter coldness that stung.

She grabbed her dagger from the side table and looked at her hand that grabbed his throat before cutting it. The blood dripped down from her palm before freezing there and her head just fell down along with her body on the bed.

She looked at the place he was sleeping at before she rolled herself in a small bundle. Soft sounds of sobs escaping her mouth. Her face buried in the pillow taking in what was left of his scent.
