It was the day of the parent-teacher meeting, where teachers try to get parents to pay more money to the school, that's at least how Hari saw it.

 She generally wasn't interested in showing up, especially since her parents never showed up for any of them. Hari's parents were out of the country a lot. She couldn't exactly pinpoint what they actually did for their job, so she settled with telling people "They own a few businesses." 

She settled with going to the spa for the night, while her friends go to the meeting, when she suddenly got a message from her father. 

Father: I'll be coming to the parent-teacher meeting today. Dress appropriately.

Hari looked at her phone in pure confusion, her dad had never came to any parent-teacher meetings in the past, so why come to this one? She shrugged, and left to go get ready for the meeting.

"Ms. Kang, what do you think of this dress?" One out of the many fashion designers showed Hari a bright green dress with a sweetheart neckline. 

"Are you deliberately trying to make me look like a frog!?" Hari yelled out. The designers had already showed, what felt like a thousand dresses, and yet, none of them fit her standards. The girl was slowly getting more and more agitated. "I told you I was looking for chic, and elegant, not slimy and slippery!" She added. 

"Ms. Kang, I believe we may have found you the perfect dress, please wait while my colleague fetches it." One of the designers bowed and flashed a smile towards Hari, who did not return the gesture. "I wouldn't be surprised if you brought a wedding dress at this point-" Hari ridiculed, when she was suddenly tapped on her shoulder, and showed a gorgeous Prada royal blue off shoulder dress, with a tasteful slit on the side. 

Hari practically gawked at the dress. "Try it on, Ms. Kang!" one of the designers said excitedly. 

The dress fit Hari like a glove, as if it was specifically made just for her, it adorned her curves in every right place, and it made her look even more elegant. The designers brought out some jewellery and heels for her to wear. 

"Wait don't tell me this necklace is where I think it's from!" Hari gasped when she touched the pattern of the diamonds adorning the necklace on the table. "Cartier's gallery from barely two weeks ago! How did you manage to get it? I heard Monaco's Royal family interested in buying it!" Hari looked up from the table, to look at the designers who brought it in. 

"Your father pulled a few strings around, and got it for his beautiful daughter." 

The voice came from behind Hari, which did not belong to any of the designers. Before Hari could turn around, she saw a pair of hands grab the necklace, then place it on her neck. 

"Father?" Hari asked. 

After the man successfully adjusted the white gold clasp of the necklace, he placed his hands on Hari's shoulder, and turned her around to face him. 

Hari's face light up when she saw the face of her father she hadn't seen in months. There was so much she hadn't told him, ( and some things that she would never even mention to him ), that happened during his absence. 

"You look exactly like your mother when she was younger." Her father remarked 

"Where is mother, anyway?" Hari asked as she touched her earrings. "She had to stay behind. Business, as always. I'm only here for the evening, i leave for the airport in the morning." Her father said, as he received a text message. "Ah, Hari. I know you and your mother love to be fashionably late, but there are important people at the party I would like to talk to, so let's get going." He said to the girl. 

"Coming, Father!" Hari knew not to press on the matter any further, so she thanked the designers, and then with her father, left for the meeting.

AN: bit of a shorter chapter than usual, just wanted to write a bit more on Hari and her fathers dynamic, and more about about her father, though he's still quite mysterious ;) I'll hopefully be releasing the next chapter soon!
