"So what have you been up to, whilst me and your mother have been gone?" Hari's father innocently asked his daughter, who was seated next to him in the van.
Hari couldn't really find the words to answer that. Hmm, well, theres me kissing Jaei's long time boyfriend at a party, then leaving for the US, Then going to another party where a stalker sends me a photo of said kiss with Jaei's long time boyfriend, then going to confront said, now ex-boyfriend, which makes it a bit better I guess (not exactly) about the photo, and then almost kissing him again, which leads me to realise my feelings for said boy, and then getting into a relationship with him, but so that Jaei doesn't realise i'm dating her ex, we come up with a plan that he fake dates Hera (actually, does father know her? anyway, I digress.) but then Hera kisses him, which makes me very jealous, and later we agree that he breaks up with her, which happens and i think that's all. oh yeah I still don't exactly know what to do about the stalker. Wait, I'm confusing myself with all of this. How long have I been quiet for?
"Hari, are you tired? We can leave the meeting earlier, if you get tired." Her father snapped her out of whatever that was.
"Oh yeah, nothing new. I'm doing well in school, and I'm looking at careers for when I graduate." Hari quickly responded. "How about you and mom, How's work?" Hari emphasised on the word 'work'.
"Same old Same old. We're currently doing business in Singapore, but we often have to fly out to Abu Dhabi and New York." Her father explained, and went into detail of all the places they saw while traveling those countries, while Hari looked out of the vans window, with her chin leaning on her hand, thinking of what she had got herself into.

The father-daughter duo soon arrived to the venue. Hari excused herself to go find her friends, while her father chatted up some important business men in Seoul, some less important than the others.
Hari walked down to the lobby, to meet up with her friends, when she saw Jaei and the exchange student talking. The girl walked over to Jaei, and then loudly announced her arrival. "Hey, Kang Ha. It looks like you two are having a very intense conversation, but I'll be stealing Jaei away from you, sorry." She said, with a phony smile.
The boy didn't have enough time to rebuke, when Hari had already pulled Jaei along with her.
"That exchange kid seriously is something, Jaei. Why is he even here? I thought only the rich kids got to come." She tilted her head to the side. "Are you still leading him on?" Hari asked, while catching up to Jaei.
"I thought you weren't coming today, what changed your mind?" Jaei switched the topic.
"My father is here tonight, so I came with him." Hari said, and wondered why Jaei didn't answer her first question.
"My father just mentioned how impressed he was on how your father did business in, shoot, what was the place called again? Ah, I think it was Hong Kong? Anyway, I'm not sure what he meant by that, though." Jaei mentioned.
The two best friends were known for their knowledge in fashion, rather than business. "Yeah I get that, every time my dad tries to tell me something about business, I just tell him I have homework that I haven't done." Hari and Jaei laughed over how similar their fathers were.
"But Jaei, you never answered my question about the scholarship kid." Hari reminded the other girl.
"His name is Kang Ha." Jaei stated, with Hari being a little confused at the remark. "I'm not sure what I'm doing. There's just something about him that's, off. as If he has a secret that he hasn't told anyone." Jaei added.
"I think it's time you switch your type. you always go after mysterious and secretive guys." Hari chuckled a bit as the two girl walked forward.
"You're right. Rian was especially weird towards the end of our relationship. I mean, I wasn't speaking to him when we were in America, but I didn't expect him to be so cold and distant." Jaei's words made Hari a little nervous.
"Haha, right. I remember you telling me about that. Uh, so anyway why weren't you speaking to him? you never really told me the whole story. You were gone for a big portion of the trip, and I was stuck alone with your cousins exploring orange county. It would've been so much more fun with you, Jaei." If there was one thing Hari knew how to do, it was changing the topic. And boy was she good.
"Ah, I had to visit a clinic for a mole on my body." something in Hari felt that Jaei was lying, but this wasn't an appropriate time to push on the matter. "And Hari, we've visited California a lot of times before, we've seen all the landmarks. I think the next time we visit the US, we should go to somewhere like Miami." Jaei interrupted Hari's train of thoughts.
"Ooh! Or maybe Orlando? Ah, Jaei, I think we should meet up with the rest of society, since the meeting will begin soon." Hari added, as she pulled her friend with her, as they headed towards the main venue.
