Ace:

I'm an idiot. I'm currently being chased by an assassin and have a gun trained on me. I jump a couple fences, before running onto a bridge. I've run at least 5 miles, so I rest on the railing on the sidewalk part of the bridge. "How did I get into this mess?" I whisper to myself. How stupid can you be though? You mess up everything, and even if you don't it goes wrong. You idiot, you imbecile, you little sh- that nagging voice in my head says, before I am snapped to reality by gunshots and a car revving. I look at the road and see two cars chasing each other. It doesn't concern me, so I decide to try and find my way home. Eventually I do, and now I'm in my room. It's 5 am, so I can get a little bit of sleep before work.

...

I wake up at 8: 30 am. I scarf down breakfast, wear something decent, and start to do my hair, when I hear a knock on the door. I open the door, and it's 66, the girl with the lollipop. "Is Valerie here?" she asks. I don't know, so I call her name. No response. "Well she isn't here" I say. 66 nods, and leaves. I leave for work.

...

At work, I stock some shelves, crunch some numbers, and work in my boss' lab. Oh, right. I forgot to tell you that the bookstore is just a front for a lab. We can even work on our own personal projects. Suddenly, I remember something, the fancy dude from yesterday night was oddly familiar. I rack my memory, and realize. He's the asshole that killed my aunt. 2 years ago. I open the house door, and notice that it's a mess. Might as well clean it up. I fold clothes, vacuum, and even sweep the floor.Where even is she? I try calling Valerie, I get the voicemail of : "Hi, Valerie here. I'm sorry that you couldn't contact me. Try calling back later, or voicemail me." After the tone, I say, "Valerie, where are you?". After saying that I got an idea. That idiot fancy guy was going to get karma, I don't know how, and I don't know when. I just feel like it'll happen. I call Diego and Apna.

...

It's 5:30 PM, and I'm kind of worried. Where is Valerie? I'm trying to call her, but it never goes through. Is she dead? Is this because of me? If I never went out that day, would she be here? Is it time that I-? Suddenly the door opens, and I see Valerie's head poking through the door. She's not dead. However, she looks really, really mad.

Yay.

Valerie:

...

I've been walking for the past sixteen hours.

Sixteen.

Freaking.

Hours.

And now I'm finally home, with only a few several thousand cuts and scratches and bruises.

Right now, I'm staring at Ace dead in the eye as if he's some wild animal and I'm trying to overpower him. I'm not saying anything. I'm not doing anything. He looks petrified. I'm too tired to try and get the stupidly tired look off my face. I stare at him for a few more seconds, finishing up the essay of curses that I just called him in my head, then I stumble over to my room and slam the door shut, muttering some more curses under my breath. I plop face first on my bed, and scream into my pillow. My legs are too tired from walking, so I hit the bed with my fists instead of kicking it. Then I just abruptly fall asleep.

Ace:

I look at Valerie. She looks more murderous than usual and she's an assassin. I don't know what to say, so I just kind of stare at her and sorta wave.

She just awkwardly goes to her room, and I get a call from Apna. She tells me to meet her at 6:15 at the Speaker. I agree and get ready. It's 5:45 and I have 30 minutes left before I need to be there. It's a 5 minute walk, so I'm not worried. I try and fail to fry something and end up with boiling oil on my arm. I flimsily bandage it and leave the food in front of Valerie's door, and leave. I'm at the Speaker, and go to my friends. We run into quite a bit of trouble. Take a goddamn guess why. Couldn't? The answer is... Racism! Lovely. I hate my life!
