In the end Oliver Ranhook never found out about
The secrets his family was hiding
But someone somewhere knows
And everyone has sins to confess
“My name is Cecile Ranhook, maiden name Hernandez
And I had an affair with Ron Bennet.”
“My name is Jesse Ranhook,
I fell in love with a woman in brazil and we had started a family
A year before my father died.”
“My name is Olive Ranhook
And I was in the other car that killed Dale Hitchcock,
but I was so scared and I paid off Officer Bennett to keep quiet.”
“My name is Amelia Brown, and I was hired by Mr. Smoky
To kill Oliver Ranhook but I was never able to.”
“My name is Oscar Ranhook, and I hired Amelia Brown
When she was about nine years old to kill whoever I told her to.”
“My name is Bartholomew, but I go by Arty,
I’m also a Ranhook, and I was Oliver’s half brother.”
“My name is Ron Bennet, and I killed Oliver Ranhook.”
Terror seems to swallow us whole
In fits of doubt
Questions bury each other
In overwhelming fashions
It could’ve been the killer,
Or maybe some ghost
Or maybe himself
That was the cause of his untimely death
But no one in the living except the criminal
Can really ever know what exactly happened
But as for the truth
Hidden within depths
It stays drowning
Conflicting with everyone renditions
Anyone could be guilty in the end
Maybe
Even
Me
My name is Dale Hitchcock and I told you
The story of the dead man that is Oliver Ranhook
