Iris's P.O.V

After I left Vegas Lights, I made it to Lia's house pretty quickly. I sat in my car for a few minutes feeling guilty for showing up randomly so late in the night. I thought for a moment that I could just sleep in my car and surprise her in the morning rather than now.

Going against my guilty conscience, I got out of my car, grabbing my suitcase from the backseat, and making my way to her front door. I hesitated as I had my fist raised up ready to knock on the door. Eventually, I just forced my fist to connect to the door.

A few moments went by and as I was going to knock again, the door opened revealing a tired, but alert Jason.
"Iris?" He asked, confused.
"Hi, Jason." I sheepishly replied.
"What are you doing here so late?
"I'm really not sure. I just know I couldn't stand to be in that town for another minute." I answered.
"Well, come in. You look cold." He said as he stepped aside to let me through.

He wasn't wrong. Wearing only sleep shorts and a thin, short sleeved shirt was causing goosebumps to appear all the way up my arms. I stepped inside the warm and cozy living room while Jason closed the front door.

"We don't have a spare bedroom but, you're more than welcome to take the couch." Jason said. "I'll go grab you a blanket and some pillows."
I nodded my head as I watched him walk down the hallway and disappear.

I continued walking until I was in front of the couch and sat down quietly. Instead of Jason bringing me my blanket and pillows, I saw Lia emerge from the dark hallway and make her way beside me on the couch. She looked tired, like she had just woke up.

After she had sat the items on the arm rest, she sat down beside me and didn't say anything. Instead, she wrapped her arms around me and gave me a hug.
"Welcome home." She said before getting up again and going to her room.

Even though Lia had to work in the morning, she still got up and welcomed me with open arms, just like I knew she would. I felt as if no amount of words could describe how thankful I was for her, she's definitely one of a kind.

I smiled to myself and placed the fluffed pillow behind my head, and then unfolded the blanket on top of myself snuggling close to it. It didn't take long until my body gave in and let me drift off into a peaceful sleep. A peaceful sleep that I've needed for a while.

All I saw was black, and then, all I smelt was bacon. I slowly opened my eyes and rubbed them so that they adjusted to the shining light coming through the curtains. Once they were, I sat up slightly and tried to crane my neck far enough to see into the kitchen. I was unsurprisingly, unsuccessful.

I tossed the blanket to the side and got myself up off the couch and started treading my way into the kitchen. When I walked in, I saw Jason standing in front of the stove, poking and prodding the bacon in the hot pan.
