Chapter 1 - The Lotus Crystal

They say that guardians are virtuous, wise and mighty beings. They seen the first dawn and prophet last dusk, started first rains and gave us lands. Living in prosperity and care, the guardians protected everyone from any dangers that could appear.

However pride and distrust appeared between them, separating them from each other, making them vurnerable.

Our story starts with 7 years ago, deep in the forests. The rains where heavy with no sigh of stopping anytime soon, making the forest look almost dark. It was the Evergreen timberland. Some say its haunted, some say its a endless maze. But one truth will be told- no one gets out of it alive.

As we cut back to the woods, footstepts could be heard, scurrying trough the muddy ground. A young mystic monkie, probably 13 during this time, was escaping from someone, trying to get away. She only needed to find a shelter, or atleast anything  to bring her some hope. Wet and muddy feet arent really inspiring to be honest.

Dark cracks covered a part of her face, including her right eye, leaking ink into her bandages, which looked pretty messy. Hiding in her cloak, and clinging on her bag by her side, the monkie ran trough darkness and rain.

This was a runnaway traveler. Her name is Coral.

- Crap...Why does it has to rain now???Out of all the worce times!- Coral though to herself.-Nevermind that. There's gotta be a way out of here.-

Her eyes darted around her, while she walked in the bushes, trying to get trough. Also her cloak got stuck with a branch in the process, which made her groan in frustration. -Arghh, not again!-

As she pulled on her cloak's edge, she stumbled and slipped down the hill behind the bush,-AHHH!-rolling a bit, untill falling face-first into some mud.

When Coral raised her head,  a tint of pinkish glow gained her attention. She shaked the mud off and got up, making a sound of awe to herself before approaching the mysterious light.

-Woah... this is..Incredible...-

A little opening area stood infront of Coral, lush with plants and vines around it, and a pedestal. There where mystic and old writings carved in that collumn, though they where too old to be read. But what caught the monkey's attention the most, was a palm-sized crystal in the shape of a pink lotus that was buzzing and humming towards her, like calling her to take it.

-I've... seen that before...-Coral mumbled and narrowed her eyes in caution. It could be a trap or so. She took a moment to inspect her surroundings. No one was around it seems. 

Hesitantly, she reached towards the crystal and picked it up, looking at it curiosly. - Whats a crystal doing in a place like this?- Coral mumbled under her breath.- I wonder where it came from...Did it fall from somewhere?- The monkie looked up, seeing a strange sight of rain stopping at this wery place, but pouring outside the area she's in.-Or did it appear here? Well...i should probably hide it from the king...-

As she was about to put it in her bag, the crystal suddely blinded her vision in bright light.It caught her off guard, making her cover her eyes. When the light died down and Coral regained her vision, she squinted her eyes at the thing. -What in the world was that all about?-

To her suprise, it didint take long for her to hear a booming voice out of nowhere, almost like an echo. -Not a step closer, young one!-

The mysterious voice alarmed the monkie, making her frantically look around. But all she saw was nothing. -Uhm...Hello?!Is someone there?!-Coral called out into nowhere, spinning her head to catch a glimpse of anyone around.

Unexpectedly, a trail of lotus petals floated before her, and a godly being made an entrance.He had red marks under his eyes, two dots above his eyebrows, floral markings on each of his arms, lotus petals at the ends of his armillary sash. Also, pinkish radiant glow from his eyes piercing Coral like paper. 

She couldnt believe her eyes. The Third Lotus prince Nezha from legends was right there, five feet away from her. She took a step back in suprise, but that caused her to slip again and fall. As she sat up, catching her breath, her hand quickly went to fix the bandage back in place.

Nezha, who's been observing the little mortals actions, noticed that gesture. He quickly reacted, crouching down to the monkey, worry and shock on his face. -You have to tell me everything, but only after i get you to safety.-

-But-

-Cut the questions for now. Where you beeing followed?- He asked stirmly, helping her get up. Coral took a moment to regain her composure, before replying in a stutter.-Y-yes, but i think i lost them...-

-Dont be so sure, i can feel them getting closer.- Nezha glanced around to be sure, and then taking attention in her eye.-What happened with your eye? They did this to you, didin't they?- His concern raised with every word as he reached out to see it. Coral's tail stiffed up as she quickly swapped the hand away and stood in a defencive position.-No touchie!-

-Uh, okay, no touching.- He replied, raising his hands up, though worry never leaving him.- Would you mind telling me what is going on!?-

-Shush!-The prince quickly shushed her and letted the silence take over the air. Rain finnaly stopped and all they heard is silent shivering of leafs in the wind and water dripping down. Nezha's ear twiched at the sounds, taking everything in before stepping closer to the monkie in worry.-Look, im your guardian now, because you picked up my flower crystal. And now its up to me to keep you safe little one. But at this very moment, its not time for questions or explanations, because they are coming.-

-You know about the king?- Nezha only huffed in responce,-Ofcourse i know about the king, i wasn't born yestuday.-he replied, crossing his arms.

Suddenly he heard something, his ear twiched, alarming him.-We dont have much time. I need to get you to safety, and now.-

-But I've been running for miles.I can't stop here...And besides...I don't really have anywhere else to go, anymore...-Coral replied with a shaky tone.She never really realised how cold and shaking she was from the rain.

Before she realised, she got picked up by Nezha, cradling her in his arms as she was a child,which to remind you, she was during this time.-Im your guardian now, and ill make sure you will never get hurt again.-He paused, before adding.-Now hold on tight.I will get you out of here.-

-What-No-HEY!-Nezha didin't gave her time to speak, interrupting her on her words with a quick sprint trough the forest. Coral's mind sprawled in a confused mess, before she noticed them running to the cliff side.-AAAAAAAAH,-W-Wait!-She freaked out and struggled against Nezha's grip.-Stop that!Im trying to save your life here!-

-THATS A CLIFF!-

-Just trust me, we will be fine!-He yelled back, before adding-I've got this, hold on!!-Nezha quickly jumped down the cliff-side, holding Coral tight to make sure she wont fall. Eventually he landed and retured to running, hoping he will get her to safety in time.
