Chapter 12: The Hunt Of The Second Girlfriend

Diana:

When Daniel told me what the situation was, I was not expecting him to say that. I was expecting him to say that his dad was sorry for disappearing and missing out on Daniel's Childhood, but I was being told that his father was only there on business and was trying to ruin our relationship just because of his high school rivalry and the hatred he had for my father, at the time of which I barely knew my father. 

But I told Daniel that I would agree to this whole situation only if he promised that he would never catch feelings or anything like that. He reassured me that he only had eyes for me and he only loved me. Now was time for the second girlfriend hunt. Since Daniel's mom said he could get a pretend girlfriend just for the satisfaction of his father i had a plan... 

My plan now was getting one of my friends to pretend to be Daniel's second pretend girlfriend, convincing my friend was going to be difficult but i just had to convince her... When i told Daniel the plan he didn't mind it because then the friend i was going to ask was someone i trusted.

Me and Daniel decided to have a group call with my friend to explain the whole situation to her. She agreed to being on a group call w9ith both me and Daniel. The group call was just based on us talking about how this whole pretend second girlfriend would work and how she just needed to pretend to be Daniel's in front of Daniel's father.

 She agreed only because she shipped us and she loved how in love we were with each other. I loved how she was willing to help us because i don't think anyone would've agreed to doing this. So it was time for the plan to be put in action, this meant that Daniel had to introduce his 'second girlfriend' to his father. The perfect opportunity came when Daniel's family was having a braai to celebrate the birth of Daniel's uncle's first born daughter. 

So Nathalie, my friend, the pretend second girlfriend was definitely going to have to be at this braai. I was also invited but i couldn't make it because i was offered a netball player position for the tournament that was taking place the same day as Daniel's family braai, but Daniel said that i could go play the netball tournament that i was invited to be part of.

 I was so excited because i loved playing netball so much. It was my favourite sport and Daniel knew how much the offer meant to me.

Daniel:

On the day of the braai Natalie came over and we got to know each other more, i mean we kinda had to because of the whole situation. We had to know some things about each other so whenever someone asked why we were also dating, so we had to get our story straight. I ended up having fun with Natalie but i was thinking about Diana the whole evening. 

Since i missed her, i decided to call her, Natalie also wanted to talk to her, apparently she had a lot to tell Diana about this other guy that she liked. When we called Diana, she sounded like she had been crying. I asked her if she was okay and the response i got was of her crying. She started talking telling us how it was all her fault.

 She kept on repeating that same statement over and over again. When she calmed down she said her mom was in hospital because of her.

She started explaining how her mom ended up in hospital. So when he and her mom had left the Netball stadium after her tournament, they started arguing about how Diana's mom was never home. Diana started lashing out on her mom because she had had enough of what her mom was doing. 

She accused her mom of not loving her, because to Diana it seemed like her mom was always choosing work over her. Diana's mom had been the one driving so as they were arguing she wasn't really paying attention to the road... so when Diana shouted at her to focus on the road because her mom had been on the wrong lean, she couldn't turn in time but the accident wasn't to serious because they hit a tree but the driver ( Diana's mom ) had been injured. 

Diana went into her panicky mood that i hadn't seen since she had it the last time when we were together in the car.

Diana wasn't okay, so i had to make a plan for me to be by her side at that moment because she wasn't herself, she needed someone by her. I arrived at the hospital at 22:00 that night, when Diana saw me, she ran into my arms and started crying and still repeating that same statement of how all this was her fault. 

Natalie was also there to comfort her friend. We (me and Natalie) offered to take Diana out so she could get some fresh air, but she refused. When Diana's mom came out of theater ( surgery ) Diana was asleep.

 Her mom woke up the next day feeling better but not completely, she started apologizing to Diana for having to see her mother in hospital over something like a tree accident. Diana also then started apologizing to her mother about how everything as her fault and how she was going to make everything right. Diana's mom fully recovered 5 days later and i took them both home so they could both get some rest. 

Diana thanked me for being there for her and her mom.
