The cheerful sound of birds chirping drifted through the open window, gently pulling Bell from his sleep. He stretched his arms overhead, yawning widely, and blinked away the remnants of dreams. As his eyes adjusted, he noticed Reita already dressed and bustling about, preparing for the day.
"Where are you off to, Reita-kun?" Bell asked, his voice still thick with sleep.
"I'm heading to the Adventurer's Guild to take on a quest," Reita replied, adjusting the straps on his gear with an air of confidence.
Bell furrowed his brow, concern etching his features. "You want to go alone? You know it's dangerous to venture there without a party."
Reita flashed him a playful smile, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "Don't worry! I can take care of myself. I just prefer to avoid the crowds when I'm working."
Bell considered this for a moment, then stood up from his bed, determination hardening his expression. "Then how about the two of us go to the dungeon together?"
Reita thought for a moment, a hint of a smirk playing on his lips. "Hah... I guess if it's just the two of us, I can manage that."
"Great! Let's go!" Bell said, excitement bubbling in his chest.
-----
"Morning, Eina-san!" Bell greeted as they stepped into the bustling Adventurer's Guild. The atmosphere buzzed with the chatter of adventurers discussing quests and trading stories, a vibrant energy enveloping them.
"Good morning, Bell! Oh, you're with Reita-san today," Eina, the friendly receptionist, remarked with a smile.
"I'm here for this quest," Reita interjected, handing over a quest sheet adorned with a terrifying image of a monster, ominous skulls littering the margins.
Eina's expression shifted to one of concern. "You want to tackle this quest? It's incredibly challenging to do it alone, you know!"
"Relax! I've got Bell with me today, so it's fine," Reita grinned, his confidence unshaken.
Eina sighed, a mix of exasperation and admiration. "Just be careful, alright?"
Reita sauntered off to chat with other adventurers, leaving Eina shaking her head. "Another day, another reckless decision," she muttered under her breath.
"What do you mean, Eina-san?" Bell asked, intrigued.
Eina turned to him, her expression serious. "Yesterday, Reita took on a retrieval quest for under corals on the 30th floor... by himself."
Bell's eyes widened in disbelief. "He went to the 30th floor alone?!"
Eina nodded, rubbing her temples as if the memory still stressed her. "What's even more shocking is that he completed it without a scratch! He brought back not one, but two under corals!"
Bell's jaw dropped. "Unbelievable..."
Just then, Reita returned, his eyes gleaming with excitement. "Hey! I just got intel from some adventurers. We can find this monster on the 40th floor!"
Bell gripped Reita's shoulder firmly. "If we're going to exterminate that monster, we need a party for backup."
Reita shook his head, his expression stubborn. "But why?"
"Because it's too dangerous to go without support!" Bell insisted.
"I tell you before right that I don't like crowds. If you're not coming, then I'll handle it myself." Reita declared, striding toward the dungeon entrance.
