Y/n stood backstage, arms crossed as she watched the ongoing match. The Judgment Day was in full force tonight, with Dominik Mysterio by their side, his eyes scanning the crowd and every corner of the ring. There was something different about him lately—something darker.

Y/n had known Dominik before this transformation, back when he was still finding his place, back when he smiled more. But now, as part of The Judgment Day, he was ruthless. She couldn't tell if it was an act or if he had really changed.

As the match ended, with The Judgment Day claiming yet another victory, Dominik hopped off the apron and made his way up the ramp, but not before catching y/n's gaze. He hesitated, something flickering in his expression. She could tell he wanted to say something, but not here, not in front of everyone.

Y/n followed him down the dimly lit hallway, away from the chaos of the arena. She caught up to him, her hand grabbing his arm gently.

"Dom, what's going on with you?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

Dominik didn't turn to face her right away. He let out a sigh, his shoulders tensing under her touch. "This is who I have to be now, y/n."

"Is it?" she challenged, stepping around to meet his eyes. "Because the Dominik I knew wouldn't let this consume him."

He finally looked at her, his eyes softer than they had been in the ring, but still clouded with doubt. "I didn't have a choice. You know what it's like in this business... you either make a statement or you get left behind."

Y/n shook her head, her hand still resting on his arm. "But at what cost, Dom? You've changed. This isn't you."

Dominik's jaw clenched. "Maybe this is who I'm meant to be."

Y/n took a step closer, lowering her voice. "I know you. You're still the guy who'd do anything for the people he cares about. I'm not saying you can't be strong, but don't lose yourself trying to prove something to everyone else."

His gaze softened further, the tough exterior slipping for just a moment. "And what if I already have?"

"Then I'll be here to remind you," she whispered, her eyes locked on his. "You don't have to do this alone, Dom."

Dominik's defenses fell entirely as he took a step toward her, closing the space between them. "You always know how to get through to me."

Y/n smiled gently. "That's because I see the real you."

He reached up, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "Then stay close. I don't want to lose you, too."

Y/n nodded, her heart racing as his touch lingered. "I'm not going anywhere."

And for the first time in a long time, Dominik allowed himself to believe that maybe he didn't have to walk this dark path alone.
