The morning in Natlan was always welcoming yet harsh as the sun rose above all the lands of the region. Threatening to blind those who dare to gaze upon its merciless rays. So, two children no less the age of 5, sat underneath a massive shade to protect themselves from the glaring heat.
Though, it was the least of their concerns as they both continued to laugh and smile with one another as the young yamkasaur beside them roared gleefully. This was any other day for the three. To sit and relax as they talked about things they were curious or passionate about. Not a day goes by without the other one always staying by another's side.
This was the norm for them. It may have sounded dull for other children just doing nothing but sit and play underneath one large tree shade all day with [Name]'s yumkasaur, yet neither cared.
As long as they had each other, they would never care for others opinions about them.

"Bullshit..."
[Name] sighed annoyingly at the nostalgia, frowning. You banged your head against the bark of the tree, your hand once on your lap now on your side as you rubbed your eyes in frustration. These kinds of reminiscences always gave you a headache each and every time you woke up from the dream of once fond memories.
Everything was different now. And you accepted the change a long time ago.
"Ah shit..." The harsh and glaring rays of the sun seeped through the slight cracks of the leaves, hitting your eyes as you covered your face with your arm. Loling your head to the side, you slowly removed your arm from your face as you felt the rays slipping away.
Just as you were about to fall asleep once again, a voice called out your name from afar from such a familiar and bubbly voice.
"Oh! I see them! [Name]!!" Mualani, the everlasting sweet and energetic shark surfer girl came and looked for you throughout Natlan with Kachina and two unknown companions by her side. Opening your eyes in confusion, you saw four girls standing quite close to your personal space. instinctively, you pressed your back against the wood, visibly flinching. You definitely were not expecting them to be this close!
You got up from your resting position, your eyes flickered with nervousness, going back and forth to each of their figure. Thankfully, they seemed to noticed your disquiet and inched a bit away from you, letting you breath again in your comfort zone.
"Huh, Mualani? Kachina? What is it?" You uneasily said, fingers twitching trying to use all your strength and will to NOT let them know you were a bit irritated by your nap being disturbed, "I'm so sleepyy... I wanna go back to sleep..." Was all you could think while observing the unknown travelers beside the two girls. Frankly, you didn't want to assume some things about them considering you didn't know who they were, but seeing the unknown clothes they both wore which you doubt were from any other nations, plus a flying fairy, who wouldn't be weirded out? Something just felt... wrong?
"But who am I to judge, right? If Mualani and Kachina trusts them, then so can I!" You thought optimistically, or at least tried to, "Besides, I've seen worse anyway."
Settling your sight on Mualani, you crossed your arms around your chest, waiting for an explanation to be done. If they came looking for you then something important must have happened, right? And speaking of importance, it does feel like you're forgetting something...
Finally, as if a light bulb had bumped your head out of nowhere, smacking you for being so incredibly idiotic and absentmindedness.
"Oh! Uh, do you mean the pilgrimage?" Right! The pilgrimage! You nearly forgot about that. Well, not like you join it anyways—obviously having your own reasons of refusal to join the tournament.
Mualani smiled and nodded, clearly already having an understanding of your fleeting memory from time to time. If not, always. In which case, you were very grateful of her understanding.
"Right... and I'm assuming you and Kachina are gonna join, correct?" This time, Kachina nodded this time and went up towards you, surprising you of her sudden voluntarily action as she always let Mualani do most of the talking.
"Yup! And I know you don't really like being on tournaments or even watching... but I really want you to join or watch us!" She said with such hope glimmering through her eyes. You'd admit, you couldn't really resist Kachina and how could you ever say no to her? "Of course, if that's okay with you..." Her tone became timid as she realized she might have said something to offend you knowing you rarely ever go to the pilgrimage.
"Don't worry Kachina! I'm sure [Name] will say yes!" The flying fairy said, trying to reassure Kachina, thinking she was sly with her hushed tone. But in truth, she was quite loud while the other who stood beside her nodded in agreement.
You exhaled softly, contemplating about the invite. Meanwhile, Kachina thought you'd decline and that thought made her sad. Though she understood your reasonings, Kachina still saw you as a sister alongside with Mualani and it always crushed her heart whenever she couldn't see you in the crowd.
"Sure." Finally caving in, you gave the answer they all wanted to hear, "Afterall, not like I'd have anything better to do than just sleep my days away." They all started cheering and it made you smile at their excitement.
"Okay! Well then let's hurry! The registration is about to close soon." Mualani hurriedly said before running off with Kachina following her and the two travelers whose name you still haven't gotten yet.
It's fine, I'll get their names once we're at the registration.
