After what felt like the longest damn ride ever, we finally pulled up to the new crib in Atlanta. I had my head leaned against the window, headphones in, zoning out the whole way. Soon as we hit the city, I could feel the difference. Atlanta was straight-up busy and loud compared to Cali. Everywhere I looked, something was poppin' off.

"Nainai, we here!" My mom's voice cut through my thoughts.

I looked up and damn near choked on my water. The house—nah, scratch that—the *mansion* was huge. Like, way bigger than what I expected. This wasn't no regular move. Mar definitely had some money.

"Awl, this nice" i said, pulling my headphones out and glancing at my mom.

"Yeah, girl, i told you that you would like it" She smirked.

I just shook my head and climbed out the truck, stretching my legs. I looked around the neighborhood. Everything was all bougie, lawns trimmed perfectly, big-ass houses lined up. Not exactly what I was used to, but hey, new life, right?

Mar was already out the truck, talking to the movers and directing them like a boss. He saw me looking and waved me over.

"Nya, come check out the house before we start unloading!"

I followed him inside, and I'm not gonna lie, the inside was just as crazy. High ceilings, shiny-ass floors, and a staircase that looked like something out of a movie.

"You and Kasir got the upstairs. He's got one side, and you got the other, so you'll have plenty of space. I'll show you your room," Mar said, leading the way.

I was trying not to show it, but I was low-key impressed. My room had a big window that let in a ton of light, and there was even a little balcony.

"Okay, I see you, Mar. You did good," I said, dropping my bag on the bed.

He laughed. "Told you you'd like it. Kasir should be home later. He's probably still out with his friends."

I nodded, trying to hide my nerves about meeting this dude. He already sounded like a mystery, and I didn't know what to expect.

"Ima go help your mom finish up outside. Settle in, Nya," Mar said before walking out.

I sighed, flopping down on the bed. So, this is home now. Atlanta, big house, new family... interesting times ahead, for sure.
