Much to Izzy's dismay, she was stuck with Zara. She wasn't particularly pleased with the arrangement, seeing as Grayson probably would have been slightly more tolerable to work with. Slightly.

The explanation was kept strictly professional, the next couple of hours filled with numbers and projections. She could occasionally hear the low hum of voices in the room opposite where Grayson and Avery were. It wasn't that it was hard to get her head around it all. In fact, her mind was fundamentally logical and therefore numbers-based. It was just that she wanted to go back to living her nomadic existence inside the House where she didn't need to talk to anyone.

Unfortunately for her, Zara picked up on the lack of interest. "You are aware that this is extremely important. You have a legacy to fulfil and I won't see you make a fool out of the Foundation."

"Relax, Zara. I wouldn't dare do anything of the sort." She smirked, but that only made things worse.

"God, you are impossible! At least Avery is more agreeable than you. Why can't you to as you are told!"

"Because doing so would result in the proper flow of time collapsing and burning?" Izzy was managing to keep her voice level, but barely.

"I can't believe he left the Foundation to you."

At that comment, Izzy had had enough. This year was already going to hard enough as it was, and starting a fight with Zara Hawthorne wasn't going to make it any easier. She got up and walked out without a word.
