~ Cyra Helia, Umbra ~
The Court is full of rude people, but I don't show my frustration about them. Across the table, a stout man without any discernable powers leans forward, bracing his arms on the table. He's complaining about the fires in the smaller city to the southeast of the main city we live in.
"We do not need this kind of shit!"
The Queen, Bianca Ida, a Phantasm, sighs. Bianca has adopted her daughters, me, Elfie Everly, a Mirage, Rio Calderon, a Wildfire, and Saskia Roseheart, a Morphlike. Bianca glares at the man, her anger radiating off her tense shoulders and her angry gray eyes. She glances my way, then back to him.
"Why would you even think it would be alright to come here and snap at me in such a vulgar way?" Bianca asks, her deep voice low and steady, despite her anger.
The man sputters, obviously trying to backtrack. But Bianca raises her hand, silencing him. He leans back in his chair, and sighs, bowing his head.
Bianca waves a hand. "Let's conclude this. Now."
As the other people file out, glancing sidelong at me and my sisters. But they don't dare anything, just walk out. Bianca sighs and leans forward, her elbows on the table. She rubs her jaw, then turns to Saskia.
"I have an idea," says Bianca, her gray gaze steady as she watches Saskia's for any sign of weakness. "Think you could do me a favor, my lovely Morphlike?"
Saskia nods. "O- of course, Mother."
Bianca and Saskia both stand and leave the council chambers. Rio leans back in her chair, grumbling about her stupidly long dress.
Rio is the most casual of us, always trying to put her legs up and leaning back, watching from a distance. She doesn't usually speak when things are going down, just paying close attention to everything. She also does not keep her voice soft when she's speaking her mind. Rio is certainly a Wildfire, even without the power in her veins.
Elfie shifts in her seat, frowning at us. "Um, what was that about? That thing with Saskia?"
I shrug. "I'm not entirely sure. I think .... I think Bianca has her going on some big missions or something."
"What? Why would she send Saskia and not Akyri Athyra? She's the Huntress that Bianca needs," says Rio.
"Yeah, except the fact that Akyri is a Leech, not a Morphlike. She can't do all that Saskia can."
Rio nods. "Hmm. Well, maybe we should try and figure it all out. Especially if this involves us."
"Doubt it does, we are not special like Saskia." Elfie groans and folds her arms.
"Still," says Rio, who stands up and cracks her knuckles. "Alright, girls. I've got an idea. Come with me."
