I opened my eyes. We were in an ancient place with stone columns. A fire behind them lit up the room. I searched for Oliver with my eyes. He was still behind me. His touch on my arm sent currents through my body. I turned to him, breathless.

I walk away from him because I know it's not the right idea, and I remind myself that I hate him.

"Okay, so what are you testing me for?" I asked with embarrassment and curiosity, walking to the other side of the room.

I heard his wings rush toward me. I turned to see. He tried to knock me down with his wings. I slid to my knees and got up. Meanwhile, he landed on his feet, ran to me, and stopped a centimeter from me.

We both gasp, "I just checked you for reflexes."

"And you couldn't warn me?"

"That's exactly the point, to test your reactions," Oliver said with a cocky smile and examined me. "Now, if you want, I'll warn you, and then we will do magic with nature's elements. What do you know about it?" He started walking toward a certain room, and I assumed I should follow him, so that's what I did.

"The four elements: water, wind, earth, and fire. But, as you remember, I just found out today that I'm not just a vampire. The only powers I possess are visions and the ability to write the future. 'So, you can mark that I know,' I said with sarcasm.

He rolled his eyes. Then he stopped outside a room. He looked me in the eye. "You have visions and can write about the future. But I'm your teacher. Until I see it happen, I can't say you can do it. So, don't tell me what to do." He said to clarify who is responsible here; I felt hurt and offended.

"If it were true, why are you acting like this?"

"How come?"

"Like a petulant little boy," I replied with a heavy heart. I tried not to show it. Of course, he would think I was teasing him. But he is teasing me. That's what I think, at least.

He narrowed his eyes, searching for something. I turned to the mysterious room I had come to enter, but he grabbed my hand. As I raised my face to him, I drew my eyes to him.

"I'm sorry if I hurt you. I don't know how to behave with new people," Oliver said. With my thumb, I stroked the hand he was holding to comfort him.

"I'm like that too. But I don't tease or disgust people as you do," I said with complete sincerity. "That's why I try to get to know them before judging."

"That's wise advice." He said and looked into my eyes. I smiled for the first time since knowing him. "Why are you smiling?" Oliver squinted.

"Because this is the first time I've had fun talking to you. You're flattering instead of stinging like you usually are," I replied. I was trying to control my feelings for him now. Although I wanted to kiss him, I still didn't know him... so I let go of his hand and stepped into the dark and secret room first.

He sighed with a heavy heart and followed me inside.

His heart felt like a heavy burden as he sighed. Does he feel like me? Why do I feel for him the way I have for Jace? I can't fall in love with two people; it's not right.

My eyes adjusted to the dark. I could see an aquarium and a forest where the wind blew. But there was nothing here about the fire. Except for the fire of desire for Oliver inside me.

"First of all, you need light; it doesn't matter if it's sunlight or light from a fire. That's what you need to begin."

"And how do I do it?" I asked in confusion.

"Concentrate and say Ignis Orbis; this is a spell to create a ball of fire that lights up the room." Oliver gave me the answer, but if I can't do it, I won't pass the most basic thing.
