Honey reached behind her into the footwell of her father's car. The de icer can had managed to lodge itself under her seat and she could just feel the top of the cap with her fingers. She let out a sigh as she opened the door and stepped out into the freezing cold. At least the sun was out she chided herself as she opened the back passenger door and crouched down to peer under the seat. She blindly groped under into the dark footwell and scratched her hand on the seat rails. After some patting on the almost damp carpet she finally she closed her fingers around the de icer can and pulled it free.

Honey faced the windscreen and sprayed the de icer which after a few pitiful squirts, promptly ran out. She cursed and shook the can before desperately trying again. After two failed attempts she threw the de icer on floor. Her phone alarm dinged to remind her that she was due to leave for work now and the sun was dropping in the sky too quickly and the temperature even faster. The roads would surely be icing over after the snowplough has churned through earlier this afternoon.

She pulled her bank card out of her pocket and began scraping the ice off the windscreen. Each scrape pushed the cold onto her fingers and seeping right down to her bones. Once it was clear she jumped into the drivers seat and stuck the key in to the ignition and tried to turn the engine over. Nothing. She tried again, once more and five more times but the car wouldn't give her anything. Why, why did this have to happen now? Her manager was already on her case about her being late and she would have been on time tonight if this car had bloody started.

Snow was a rarity in England and she was lucky a snowplough even existed in her rural town. This snowfall had come out of nowhere and dumped blankets of beauty everywhere and the sun was not strong enough to melt it away.

Honey turned the key one final time and with no luck, she stepped out and slammed the car door shut. It would take her half an hour to walk into work at the least but it would be better than nothing.

"Hey, I think this belongs to you?" A voice called from next door. Honey jumped and peered round the side of the car over into next doors garden. Her eyes landed on a tall man whose features she couldn't quite make out due to the rapidly fading light.

"What is it?" She called back, moving closer to him.

"It looks like a de icer can? Must have rolled under the gate to my garden." He had a deep voice, a welcoming voice. He came closer to her and she gasped at his perfect pale skin, stunning green eyes and inky black hair.

"Who are you?" She forced out, pushing her shock down.
