Nevan's POV
"Something definitely seems wrong." He thought to himself. What can it possibly be that Adhyaay had to me on my day off. He knows that i barely take any days off so for him to call me out of no where seems a bit odd.
...........
Adhyaay has been Nevan's bestfriend for pretty much his whole life. Adhyaay's family was new to the city of Mumbai and everyone was a stranger to them. Nevan's family was their neighbor. Nevan's mother came up to them on their day of moving. She was quite friendly towards them. She offered them some help and invited them to dinner. Both Nevan and Adhyaay were four at that time. Gradually as the families started bonding more, both of them too started becoming friends. They used to play with each other all the time. When the time came, on seeing their bond, their parents got them admitted in the same school. There they were together the whole time. Even after completing their school, they both decided to pursue law along with business. After graduating they decided to open their own law firm and alongside Nevan wanted to continue his father's business. And now both of them handle it together. Nevan's father had no problem with Adhyaay getting a major share of his company since he considers him like his own son. Now for almost six years, both of them along with Nevan's brother who's three yours younger than him, handle the business and the law firm. Nevan's brother, Avyaan is not really that fond of Adhyaay because his brother's friend seems to get through his notorious acts. ...........
Nevan got ready in his formals since he cannot show up to his office looking homeless as he's the boss. He took his car keys, went to his car, putting on the seatbelt, he started driving.
After almost thirty minutes of driving through the busy streets of Mumbai, he finally reached in front of his office building. He went inside and saw everyone gossiping around. He stood there at the entrance, his hands in his pockets, emitting a dangerous aura. He took two steps, exactly two steps. Hearing the noise, everyone turned around and there was this sudden silence everywhere.
The receptionist seemed to gulp in fear seeing her boss there. No one had expected his arrival. "Is there a vacation going on here since everyone seems to be enjoying there time a lot." he said glaring at the people gathered around. Everyone bowed to him acknowledging his presence and quickly left from there to do their respective jobs.
Nevan was the typical stern boss. Hot headed, strict and disciplined were the usual words you could describe him as. He was quite the character. So much for the classic novel boss. You wouldn't want to be in his bad books.
On hearing the arrival of Nevan, Adhyaay came downstairs to him. "You're finally here. I've been waiting for you. Come with me." Adhyaay said in a serious tone. He was quite a cheerful guy so him having this serious tone meant genuine business.
"What is it?" Nevan asked him as they started walking towards the elevator. Adhyaay sighed as they entered inside the lift pressing the button for the fifteenth floor. He just glanced at his friend and nodded. Now Nevan was a little annoyed because he wasn't answering his questions and just giving him looks.
The elevator dinged and the door opened. They both went outside, the whole floor was quite. There were bodyguards standing on either sides of the corridor that led to Nevan's office. The whole of fifteenth floor was reserved for Nevan and Adhyaay. No one was allowed to enter there unless they were called by them or had some really important issues.
Entering inside his office, Nevan went and sat on his chair. "Before you start with your looks again, I'm serious Adhyaay, what is it?" he asked with no hint of sarcasm in his tone. "It will be better if i just show you." Adhyaay said walking towards his friend. He opened his laptop and connected it with a pen drive he had. As soon as he opened it, there were a bunch of records displaying on the screen.
