4. Game

Both the girls were sitting in the room. Aratrika opened her laptop to show her something. Before she could proceed further, she heard a knock."Yes maa", she knew that it was her mother who had kind of knocked on her door. Her mom came in glaring at her. She folded her hands and stood in front of her. "Why is your door closed?" her mother asked in a serious tone. " How many times have i told you that no one keeps their door closed in this house." she continued. Aratrika knew that there was no point in debating with her mother so she just lowered her head. Prakhya understanding the situation, tried to cover up for her friend saying, " Aunty, i'm sorry, i closed it by mistake. In fact she was just now telling me to open it." Her mother just nodded her head in approval, she said " Now keep this open, i don't like repeating myself." She then walked over to Prakhya and asked her in a very loving tone, "Child, I have seen you after so many days. I missed you my love. Tell me, what do you wanna eat? I will make that for you." Aratrika looked at her mother and chuckled seeing the sudden change in her emotions. Prakhya, taking advantage of her mood, went and hugged her saying, "Aunty, i missed you too and wanted to meet you. Also aunty, i really wanted to hangout with this dumbhead, so if you don't mind can i take her with me?" she asked, blinking her eyes, making a puppy face. Aratrika looked at her with a done face on being called a dumbhead. Her mother looked at both of them and then turned to Aratrika and said, "Okay go but come back on time." Prakhya who was still side hugging her, started jumping with happiness. "Thank you aunty. You know you are my favorite." Her mother chuckled at her childish behavior and then went out. Prakhya turned towards Aratrika who was already staring her in a questioning gaze. "What was that about?" Aratrika asked her. Because clearly that wasn't in their plan. "Aunty won't let us close the door and we clearly cannot talk about this topic openly. It's way too risky." Prakhya said. Aratrika nodded agreeing with her friend. They both quickly took the needed things and headed out of the house to go to a more safer place where no one would disturb them. Coming out of the house they were discussing where to go. "Let's go to my place. My parents are out of town for three days so no one would disturb us there. This is serious." Prakhya said to her friend. "Yeah that seems like a good option. We'll order some food there as well so we don't have to go anywhere." Aratrika added. After that they booked a cab and went to Prakhya's home. Prakhya's curiosity was getting the best of her. She was eagerly waiting for her friend to answer all her questions. They both went inside Prakhya's room and settled on the bed. Aratrika opened her laptop. All this time her friend was just looking at her. She saw her typing something at an abnormal speed. She peeped through the corner and her jaw dropped. On the screen she could see a series of numbers and letters in the form of codes and binary numbers. Different IP addresses were all across the screen. Everything went over her head, Prakhya couldn't understand a single thing that her friend was doing on her laptop but she decided to keep quite. After typing for several minutes with unwavered concentration, Aratrika finally spoke, "phew, i found it. I guess he changed the security code systems." Prakhya looked at her raising her eyebrows. She clearly wasn't following up. Understanding the confusion o her friend's face, Aratrika spoke again," Him, the guy i was telling you about. I had to collect some information regarding him and his company. We got a tip about some suspicious activities happening there. So i had to break through his security systems to get the files and documents needed." Prakhya nodding her head said, "I know i'm not much aware about all this but clearly you need some source to establish a connection there to hack the system. Right?" She was right, Aratrika couldn't just sit there and break through the codes without actually having established a connection with the server there. She said, "Yes, you're right. I did that and it wasn't easy as well. I almost got caught but thankfully everything went fine. By now he must be wondering what happened." Aratrika smirked at her own words. "YOU went there? Yourself?" Prakhya screamed at her. "Do you even realize how dangerous that could've been? We have people for that." she continued. "I know we have people for that but the chances of me getting at it were higher with me being present there." Aratrika said in her defense. "So? Did you get anything?" her friend asked. "Yes and no." she replied."What does that even mean?" Prakhya asked her being confused. She just smirked and stretched her hands and said, "We're in for a game this time."
