The next day I wake up to a notification on my phone, that stands out.

@jackgyllenhaal sent you a message.

I quickly click on it. Being taken to the chat on instagram.

"I thought you were older. Such a shame"

I mentally screamed into my pillow as I read it out loud. I took 2 whole minutes before I responded.

"It really is a shame that you're SO old"
I wrote jokingly hoping that he would get it, but i wouldn't judge him if he didn't.

It takes a while before he texts back. I had to go out of Instagram for a while because I got to nervous. Then the notification comes up,

"Haha age shaming i see"

He understood the joke!!! Could he be the one? Wait now I'm thinking ahead of time again. My delulu ass brain imaging things again.

"Don't blame me, you started!🥲"
I quickly replied back without thinking.

We continue this type of conversation for the whole day. Not letting go of my phone for a second, hating myself for smiling just a bit at his notifications. "He's too old for me, he thinks I'm a child, I am a child" that's thoughts that keeps spinning around in my head trying to keep me grounded from imagining things that aren't there.

For the next two weeks we call and text everyday. He had talked about meeting up again as friends but I keep coming up with reasons not to. I didn't want to embarrass me again because I'm more embarrassing in person than over the internet. But one day he managed to convince me even though I was in New York instead of LA. I knew that I needed to go back to New York again but he kept on insisting that we would meet again.

He keeps his eyes focused on the dark road as he continues to drive, he clears his throat. "So um... are you tired at all? It was a long flight after all" he gets a little nervous but brushes it off like nothing.

I'm looking out the window, bring the blanket a bit higher on me that I had stolen from your backseat.
"A little, I'm hoping that you're not tired"

He glances at you briefly before returning his focus to the road "No, not really. I'm wide awake." Pauses "you cold? You've got that blanket all bundled around you."

Looking over at you as you drive.
"No I just like having blankets on me when I'm warm and sweaty" I say sarcastically in a joking manner before laughing slightly at my own joke.

He smirks at your response, then chuckles,

"Well that's new one."
He shakes his head "you always do the weirdest things" he teases playfully.

"You eat ice cream for breakfast on Sundays because in your words 'it is brain food' "

I chuckle, my cheeks slowly turning pink as you quote me on something I told you on a call, thinking you wouldn't remember such a boring thing about me.
"It is brain food though"

"8:15 in the morning and you're shoveling ice cream in your mouth, calming it's brain food"
He tools his eyes dramatically.

I nod like it's an obvious thing with a small playful smile on lips "yes and?"

"I bet you would get all upset if someone actually tried to feed you anything else. I can see it on your face and the way you talk that you're stubborn about your things"
He glances over at you, a soft smile on his lips.
