He reached into his pocket, pulling out the plastic cup of wine from earlier. Taking a sip, he mulled over what their conversation had been, replaying the interaction in his head.

Her brother was a problem, there was no doubt about that. But he was not scared of him. He wasn't going to let some Ice Prince scare him away from her.

Evan took another sip before setting his cup back down against the wall. A small smile came to his face as he thought of her. Her sarcastic attitude, her quick wit... it was all so different to the girls he was used to.

More than that, she was Tom Riddle's little sister, and that added a certain layer of enjoyment to the whole thing. He could almost hear her brother's outrage if he found out.

He chuckled again, his smile widening a bit as he ran a hand over his face. The thought of her continued to drift through his head, her sarcastic comments and slight scowls coming to mind. He wanted to see her again. He wanted to tease her more, to rile her up and get her to react.

Maybe there was some truth to what she had said earlier...

His smile fell, his eyes widening a bit as that thought suddenly crossed his mind. A hint of shock on his face for only a moment before it was gone. He shook his head, looking down at the floor.

Evan wasn't... no, he could not be developing an actual crush. It was impossible... right?

He let out a small groan, running a hand through his hair. These thoughts were ridiculous. He could not have an actual crush on her, of all people. Especially not with who her brother was and the danger that could cause him. He wasn't that stupid.

That thought didn't stop him from already planning on how to tease her next time, though...

Evan was sitting in the Great Hall during dinner, his eyes flicking around the room. He was not paying too much attention to the conversation going on around him, still lost in his thoughts from the previous night.

He took a sip from his goblet as he looked around the hall, searching for a certain girl. He had been thinking about her and their past interaction for much longer than he'd like to admit. The thought of her had distracted him all day... which was extremely annoying.

As if one Cue Cleo enters the Great Hall with Tom

As soon as Evan's eyes caught sight of the siblings, he sat up a bit straighter. His eyes instantly landed on her, studying her and the way she walked with Tom. His heartbeat picked up a bit in his chest.

He did not know why he was reacting like this. He shouldn't be feeling this way about a girl, especially her. But there seemed to be something about her that drew him in.

He continued to watch both her and her brother as they walked to their table, his gaze not moving from her figure. He could hear snippets of their conversation, just enough to know that Tom was as strict with her as ever.

Evan wanted to roll his eyes. He didn't understand Tom's protectiveness over his sister; he was acting as if she'd be taken from him the moment she left his sight

His eyes followed her as she took a seat next to Tom at the table. She looked a little annoyed, based on the look on her face and the way she had rolled her eyes at something her brother had said. That only made his smile grow.

He continued to look at her, studying her for a moment as he sipped from his goblet. A strange urge to get up and walk over to her was slowly growing in the pit of his stomach...

Evan couldn't help himself. As if he was on autopilot, he set down his goblet and stood up, straightening his robes and running a hand through his hair. He looked down, taking a deep breath to steel himself. He could feel his heart beating hard in his chest... Had he ever been this nervous before?
