Cassandra Stark was born on July 26th, 1996. She was raised by her mother until she was five. Then the accident happened. On her 5th birthday. Cassandra and her mom were driving home from Cassandra’s grandparents. Cassandra was asleep in the back seat. She woke up when the car had hit something.

Her mother looked back at her asking if she was okay. Her mother looked out the window and saw something and told Cassandra, “Baby, can you do something for me?” her mother said.
The little girl nodded. "I need you to close your eyes and not move. Don't open your eyes no matter what and don't make a sound. Can you do that?” Her mother said with a scared tone in her voice. Cassandra nodded and closed her eyes. Cassandra heard her mother grab something from the glove box and step out of the car.

Then she heard a loud boom. And then another.

She heard her mother screaming. And in that moment, everything her mother had just told her to do, she did the opposite.

Cassandra opened her eyes and looked out the window and saw her mother lying on the ground against the car. Cassandra got out of the car and sat next to her mother, “Hey baby, what did I say about not moving?” her mom held her face, trying to comfort the child. Cassandra just cried more. “Shhh baby, mommy is okay,” she said as she was bleeding out from the gunshot wound in her stomach.

Her mom knew she was going to die and she knew what was going to happen to Cassandra. She knew all those years of protecting her were over. She had failed at protecting Cassandra, “Baby, look at me,” She used both hands this time when she grabbed Cassandra's face. Her left hand, which was the one she was holding her stomach with, was now resting on Cassandra's cheek “.Stop crying b, baby, and listen to me”. Cassandra listened to her mother and tried to calm herself down. Her mother looked at her and smiled. “I need you to be my strong little girl and know Mommy will always be with you no matter what. I love you,” Cassandra's mom said right before another gunshot echoed in the air.

Right in the head was a singular gunshot wound. Her hand dropped from Cassandra's face, leaving a bloody handprint.

Cassandra cried and screamed before a man came up to her and stuck her with a needle.
