MYSTIC FALLS HAD CHANGED A LOT SINCE ELEANOR HAD LAST STEPPED FOOT IN IT. For one thing, it wasn't 1864 anymore, and the town had adapted to modern times. The houses and buildings had changed, and the style was very different. But Eleanor had changed as well, and she was ready for the new start in an old town.
She spent the night in her new apartment before going to school the next day. She felt everyone's eyes on her as she walked through the front doors. It was a small town, and it wasn't often they got new students, let alone two in the same year. She was well aware of the other new student, for he was one of the reasons that she was in Mystic Falls in the first place.
All it took was a little compelling to get the secretary in the front office to hand her a schedule, and she was on her way to class. She was scanning the paper as she turned a corner, and she almost instantly collided with someone. She dropped her schedule and the binder that she had been holding, and she quickly bent down to pick it up. She was definitely the first vampire ever to make that much of an idiot of herself in front of a bunch of humans.
"I'm so sorry. I'm such a klutz," she apologized with a light chuckle to the person that she hit. Whoever it was leaned down to help pick up the dropped items.
"Oh, please. I've had dozens of collisions in this hall," the other girl answered, and Eleanor looked up and finally looked at her. She was blonde with pretty blue eyes, and she had a welcoming smile spread across her face as they stood back up together. "It's nothing to worry about."
The Chetwood girl smiled gratefully, looking down at her schedule. Despite the fact that she would be able to find the class herself by just following the numbers, Eleanor needed to start getting acquainted with the locals. She might need some resources later. "Do you know where Mr. Tanner's class is?"
"Oh, it's just down the hall. Last door on your right," the blonde girl informed her, pointing behind her to where students were walking into a door at the end of the hall.
"Thanks," the brunette responded. She then extended her hand for the girl to shake, and she really prayed that it wasn't weird to shake hands with teenagers. She had not gone to high school in a while. She introduced herself, "I'm Eleanor."
