The morning of her departure arrived too soon. She packed her suitcase with a heavy heart, each item feeling like a farewell to the magic she'd found in Birmingham. After three whirlwind days filled with laughter and late-night conversations, the reality of returning home settled in like a lead weight.

Cillian arrived at her hotel just as she finished. He stood in the lobby, looking dapper in a fitted jacket, his expression a mix of concern and determination. "Ready?" he asked, trying to mask the tension in his voice.

"Yeah, I guess so," she replied, forcing a smile despite the bittersweet feeling gnawing at her.

As they made their way to the airport, the silence between them was thick with unspoken words. Cillian glanced over at her, his brow furrowed. "I really don't want you to leave," he admitted, his voice low.

Her heart skipped a beat. "I have to. I have work and... everything," she said, though the thought of parting filled her with dread.

"But what if I came with you?" he suggested suddenly, his eyes lighting up with an idea. "I could book a flight for next week. I want to spend more time with you—discover your city, your background, your story."

Her breath caught in her throat. "You'd do that?"

"Absolutely," he said, his voice filled with conviction. "I've never felt this kind of connection before. I don't want to lose it."

She felt a rush of emotions—excitement, fear, hope. The idea of him visiting Greece sent a thrill through her, but doubt lingered. "What if it doesn't work out? What if we're just... a moment?" she asked, her voice trembling slightly.

Cillian reached for her hand, his grip warm and reassuring. "Then we'll make the most of our moment. But I believe there's more here. I want to see where you're from, learn about you. This feels special to me."

As they pulled up to the airport, her heart raced with the possibilities. "Okay," she said, her resolve strengthening. "If you really want to come, then let's do it."

He smiled, the weight of his expression lifting. "I'll get everything sorted as soon as you're on your flight. I can't wait to see your city."

They parked and walked together into the terminal, the bustling atmosphere a stark contrast to their private moment in the car. As they approached the check-in counter, she could feel his gaze on her, a mixture of admiration and something deeper.

"I'll text you as soon as I land," she promised, her voice barely above a whisper.

Cillian nodded, stepping closer. "And I'll be counting down the days until I can explore Greece with you."

With a deep breath, she turned to face him fully, feeling the weight of the moment. "I really am going to miss you."

"I'll miss you too," he said softly, leaning down to give her a gentle kiss on her forehead. The warmth of the gesture sent a shiver through her.

Feeling bold, she pulled back and kissed him on the cheek, a smile breaking through her uncertainty. "See you soon, Cillian."

As she moved to the security line, she glanced back at him one last time, his expression filled with determination and warmth. Unbeknownst to her, his heart raced with feelings he hadn't yet voiced. She was unlike anyone he'd ever met—unique, charming, and fascinating. Even though they hadn't shared much more than a few conversations, he couldn't shake the spark he felt whenever she was near.

The thought of seeing her again, of exploring her world, filled him with a sense of anticipation. He admired her resilience, her warmth, and the way she made him feel alive in a way he hadn't in years. With each passing moment, he found himself captivated, eager to discover more.

With that promise hanging in the air, she stepped through the gate, the thrill of their bond still lingering, ready for the next chapter to unfold.
