Teri kaali akhiyon se jind meri jaage
Dhadkan se tej daudoon, sapno se aage
Ab jaan lut jaaye, yeh jahan chhoot jaaye
Sang pyaar rahe, main rahoon na rahoon..
Sajda tera sajda.......
---------------------------------------------------------AUTHOR'S POV
As Shivangi emerged from the bustling terminal of the airport, the late afternoon sunlight streamed through the large glass windows, casting a warm glow on the weary travelers. She had just collected her bag from the baggage claim and now made her way towards the airport exit, her movements fluid and deliberate. Her face, however, remained a picture of serene composure, devoid of any outward expression. This calm demeanor contrasted sharply with the whirlwind of activity around her.
Shivangi's focus was firmly fixed on her phone. Her fingers moved with practiced ease over the screen as she scrolled through her contacts, searching for her family's number. She was intent on making a call to let them know she had arrived safely, her concentration so absolute that she seemed almost impervious to her surroundings. The chatter of fellow passengers, the rolling of suitcase wheels, and the occasional announcement over the PA system all faded into the background.
As she navigated through the crowd, her gaze still locked on her phone, her steps became slightly more hesitant. Distracted by the small screen, she failed to notice a man standing in her path. The collision was abrupt and unforeseen. Her foot caught on his, and she stumbled forward, her body losing its balance.
In a flash, the man's reflexes kicked in. He reached out instinctively, his hand closing around the edge of her phone just as she fell. The motion was so smooth and deliberate that it seemed as though he had anticipated the mishap. Shivangi's descent was swift; she fell onto her back, her bag spilling open beside her.
The man's immediate reaction was to steady himself and then turn towards Shivangi. As he did, the phone slipped from his grasp, landing softly on the ground. He crouched down to retrieve it, his expression one of genuine concern. His gaze met hers, and for a moment, the world around them seemed to pause.
Shivangi, momentarily stunned, looked up at him with wide eyes. Her calm demeanor was momentarily broken by a flicker of surprise and a hint of embarrassment. She had not expected to end up on the floor, and the fall had disrupted her carefully maintained composure. As she gathered herself, the man extended his hand to help her up, his face displaying a mix of concern and apology.
"Are you alright?" he asked, his voice warm and sincere. His features were soft, and there was a genuine concern in his eyes that seemed to invite reassurance.
Shivangi took a moment to process his words. Her initial reaction was to push herself up with a slight wince, but she accepted his help, placing her hand in his. As he helped her to her feet, she couldn't help but notice the kindness in his eyes and the steady strength in his grip.
"Thank you," she said, her voice steady but laced with a hint of gratitude. She reached down to retrieve her phone, now lying a few feet away. The man picked it up and handed it to her with a gentle smile.
"You should be more careful," he said, his tone light but earnest. "It's easy to get lost in the phone and not see what's around."
Shivangi nodded, her expression softening as she looked at him. She could see that he was genuinely concerned and not merely a bystander to her mishap. The moment of vulnerability had made her more aware of the people around her, and this unexpected interaction had drawn her out of her solitary bubble.
"I will," she replied, her voice more appreciative now. "Thank you again."
The man nodded and gave her a reassuring smile before stepping back, allowing her space to collect herself. As Shivangi watched him walk away, she felt a small pang of gratitude. The encounter, though brief and unexpected, had been a reminder of the kindness that could be found in the most ordinary of moments. She took a deep breath, her calm demeanor returning as she resumed her journey towards the exit, her thoughts now mingled with the warmth of the interaction she had just experienced.
