The sterile smell of the hospital filled the room, along with the steady beeping of machines that monitored Siya's every breath, every heartbeat. Sunlight streamed in through the partially open curtains, casting soft patterns on the floor. Her eyelids fluttered as she began to stir, her body finally responding to the medication and rest. The first thing she felt was the dull ache in her limbs, but it was the overwhelming sense of confusion that made her heart race.

Rudrav sat by her bedside, his face etched with worry, his hands gripping the edge of the chair tightly as if bracing for the worst. He hadn’t left her side since she was brought in, unconscious, fragile, her body bruised from whatever horrible ordeal she had endured. His eyes, usually sharp and fierce, were now soft, filled with emotions he hadn’t allowed himself to feel in years. He watched her with bated breath as her eyes finally opened, focusing on her surroundings.

Rudrav- Siya!?

His voice was barely above a whisper, thick with emotion.

Her gaze slowly moved to him, blinking as if to confirm whether she was dreaming or if he was really there.

Siya- Captain!

Her voice was hoarse, barely audible, but the sound of her saying his name sent a wave of relief through him.

Without thinking, without hesitation, Rudrav stood up and enveloped her in a tight embrace. He held her like he was afraid she might disappear again, his arms trembling as they wrapped around her frail form. For a moment, everything felt right—the world seemed to have stopped as he breathed her in, thankful that she was alive.

Rudrav(whispered)- I thought I lost you!

Siya’s arms instinctively moved to hold him back. She felt the warmth of his body against hers, the safety that came with his presence. Her heart fluttered, a sense of peace washing over her, knowing she was in the arms of someone who truly cared about her. It was as if the nightmare she had endured faded in his embrace, even if just for a moment.

But that moment shattered all too quickly. Rudrav's eyes snapped open, reality crashing in like a tidal wave. She wasn’t his. She was engaged to someone else!

Guilt hit him like a punch to the gut. What was he doing? This wasn’t right.

His body stiffened, and he reluctantly pulled away, breaking the embrace. The warmth between them was replaced with a sudden coldness, a tension that neither of them could ignore.

Rudrav- I… I’m sorry!

He muttered, stepping back. His hands clenched into fists, as if trying to restrain himself from holding her again.

Rudrav- I shouldn’t have.....

But before he could finish his sentence, Siya reached for him, grabbing his arm with what little strength she had left.

Siya- Captain, wait!

she pleaded, her voice still weak but determined. There was something in her eyes—something desperate, as if she needed to tell him something, to explain what had happened.

He froze, looking at her with conflicted eyes, unsure of what to do or say. Her touch was soft but firm, anchoring him in place.

Siya- Aisa kuch nahi hai jaisa aap soch rahe hai!

Her voice cracking slightly. She was exhausted, but she needed him to know the truth, to understand the gravity of the situation.

Siya- Vaibhav… he’s not who you think he is.

Rudrav’s brow furrowed in confusion. He was not able to process what she is saying.

Rudrav- kya matlab?
