_Chapter 10: Unexpected Salvation_
As the trio caught their breath, a sudden presence startled them.
A white-haired man materialized, his piercing gaze commanding attention.
"Hello there. What brings you to my cabin?" Dr. Lee asked, his voice calm.
Y/N's fear spiked.
"Oh, it's a white dude!" she exclaimed.
Dr. Lee chuckled.
"Not just any white dude. I'm Dr. Lee."
Parker's hope surged.
"We were searching for you. We need help."
Dr. Lee's curiosity piqued.
"Ah? What kind of help?"
Y/N's desperation boiled over.
"Can't you see?! There's a demon girl outside your cabin! Aren't you supposed to be an expert?"
Dr. Lee smiled wryly.
"Right, of course. I'll help. But please, no screaming."
He retrieved a mysterious bottle and glass from an adjacent room.
Chester's skepticism grew.
"What are you doing?"
Dr. Lee's eyes gleamed.
"Trapping her where she came from."
Y/N's voice trembled.
"You mean in my house?"
Dr. Lee nodded.
"Exactly."
With a deep breath, Dr. Lee opened the cabin door.
Emily charged, but they dodged, and she hurtled toward Y/N's house.
As Emily crashed through the door, Dr. Lee slammed it shut, tossing the liquid inside.
The trio watched, awestruck, as Emily – or rather, the clone of Emily – became trapped.
Dr. Lee's expression turned somber.
"She wasn't human. It's a possessed corpse."
Y/N's tears flowed freely.
"You mean she was dead the whole time?"
Dr. Lee nodded sympathetically.
"Unfortunately, yes."
Y/N's sobs filled the air.
Dr. Lee departed, leaving the trio alone.
Chester offered comfort.
"You can stay with us if you want."
Y/N's voice barely above a whisper.
"...Sure."
Parker wrapped an arm around Y/N's shoulders.
"You're not alone."
