I mean
Couldn't you imagine me
A woman almost twenty
Doing everything she possibly could do without your puppet strings guiding me from
behind the curtain?
Or do you always have to continuously remind me of you with the tug of a string?
To do as I'm bid
To be who you wish me to be
Without full autonomy?
You say you love me
But is that the truth?
You've always chosen her over me
She was the object of your affections, leaving next to
nothing for us
For your children
You did as she said
Believed what she told you
But never let us speak the truth
It was her way or the highway
Instead of defending us or loving us or being the father, the dad, that we needed you to be you vaporized into thin air
Leaving nothing but the shell of your former self behind
I know she's done many things for us and honestly she's been the best thing for you
But can't you just once
For once in your life
Choose us?
Or will your heart of stone seize to think of anything other than yourself?
