~Wow,Cale, magnificent ~
Cale sat on the bed, his brows furrowed, with Raon clinging to his chest and Ohn and Hong nestled by his arms. To his dismay, Ron stood nearby, a mischievous smile on his face, holding a cup of what appeared to be lemon tea-though Cale suspected it was merely lemon pulp. He frowned at the sight.
Eruhaben-nim inspected Cale, concern etched in his features. "Are you feeling tired?" he asked.
Cale blinked, pondering for a moment before responding, "Well, just a bit, but not like I haven't slept. I'm not sure if it's due to my ancient power or that god."
Eruhaben sighed, muttering under his breath, "Unlucky bastard."
Alberu, who had just settled into a chair nearby, ran a hand through his hair, curiosity glinting in his eyes. "My dongsaeng, mind explaining that world?" Choi Han and the others leaned in, eager for details.
Taking a deep breath, Cale plucked a cookie from the nearby tray, choosing to nibble instead of touching the cup. "It's a vastly different world, unlike ours. It lacks mana or powers; it's a normal world governed by science."
Eruhaben raised an eyebrow. "Science?" he echoed, while Choi Han's eyes widened in apprehension.
Cale nodded, patting the kids reassuringly. "Yes, it's like how we create tools, but without magic."
Raon's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Human! Does that mean humans have succeeded in becoming powerful without magic?" His eagerness was palpable as Cale softly nodded.
Alberu raised a brow, intrigued. "Oh? Quite interesting."
Cale leaned forward, his expression shifting to seriousness. "So, hyung-nim, what's happened here? Have the hunters shown any signs of movement?"
Vicross frowned, and Choi Han clenched the hilt of his sword, tension palpable in the air. Rosalyn took a deep breath before speaking. "They have been quiet-far too quiet."
Alberu continued, a gravity settling in his tone. "It's like-"
He was abruptly cut off by Cale, who interjected, "Calm before disaster."
Eruhaben nodded in agreement. "We've sent Rasheel with dark elves to scout the continents for anything suspicious."
Cale took a deep breath, considering the weight of the conversation. Then Choi Han asked, "But Cale-nim, isn't that world peaceful? Why did the god of death send you there?"
Cale cursed mentally and shot Choi Han a pointed look before responding quietly, "In a few months... there will be an apocalypse."
The room's temperature plummeted as Cale sensed the deadly frowns and disapproving glances directed at him. However, he chose to disregard their intensity, nonchalantly nibbling on a cookie.
"Ah, how delightful," he remarked with a hint of sarcasm, his voice dripping with irony. "I suppose the god of death finds amusement in tossing me into chaotic situations. A lovely way to say hello, wouldn't you agree?"
His casual demeanor elicited a mixture of disbelief and frustration from his allies. Eruhaben's expression was stern, while Alberu's brow furrowed in concern. "Cale, this isn't a trivial matter."
Cale shrugged, still savoring the cookie. "True, but someone has to lighten the mood amidst all this impending doom. After all, it's not every day one gets whisked away to another world only to be burdened with apocalyptic news." He paused, giving them a pointed look. "Besides, worrying won't change a thing. We need to plan, not panic."
Suddenly, a loud crash echoed through the villa, sending a jolt of tension through the air. Cale frowned, instinctively gathering the kittens in his arms while Raon hovered nearby, cloaked in invisibility.
